( a real heavy sigh ) Speilman seems hell bent on trying to make Ponder an all pro QB....but he's nothing but a backup QB at best! like you said
The rumors Im hearing say, the Vikings will more than likely go after a franchise QB and load up on the defense this draft. The worst news Im hearing is that the Vikes are likely to lose Jared Allen...I wonder who he could bring in a deal.
it makes sense for Jared Allen go for it and try to get a ring...cause he's not going to win one with the Vikings, and yes they do need a franchise QB to work on the Defense is a must..hope they can find a stud LG in the draft or get a real good FA LG and a MLB in the draft..need a Safety so many needs

Trading down from No. 8 a possibility for Vikings There has been a lot of talk in Indianapolis about the depth of this year?s draft class. NFL Network draft analyst Mike Mayock called this draft the deepest he?s seen in 10 years and also said having a top 20 pick this year is like having a top 10 pick most years. Prior to coming to the Combine, Spielman said the draft is so deep that he can see teams finding starters as late as the third day of the draft. Spielman also said Thursday that this is the deepest receiver class he can remember and that the record number of juniors who declared is a big reason for the depth across the board. Vikings won?t force a QB at No. 8 While the team has admitted quarterback is a priority this offseason, Spielman also noted that the Vikings will not force a quarterback as their pick at No. 8. Instead, Spielman insisted, the Vikings will take the top-rated player on their board. Looks like the Vikes are playing it smart, but anything can happen and change, depending on who's on the board at the time. I just hope they get the right guy for QB. Oh, things would be so much better with a good QB. I still dont think their done with Ponder. I could be wrong, of course, but I think they are going to give him a long, hard look under a new program and scheme...just my opinion.
Here's an idea...get Peterson the ball more. That was from PHT. Kinda figured that Peterson was a quick healer and would be ready to go.
NFL.com... Looks interesting and makes perfect sense to design plays for Patterson...I like it. He needs more involvement, and it will help honest up the defenses that play Minnesota to stop the run and key on Peterson.
i think the Vikings might be able to get Aaron Murray in the 2nd or 3rd round,he doesn't need to be elite just be consistent i watched a few of their games he looked pretty good, i like the idea of making Patterson more involved in the game plan...the Vikings do have the players the combine and the draft are a crap shoot, who will the Vikings pick at no. 8 hope its not a QB
Mike Evans would look real good in Purple this guy blocks and is tough and strong, his hands seem ok him and Patterson would be really good...no more stacking box against AP but it always comes down to who get them ball at times i have wondered if Ponder even gave a damn!!! how many chances does this guy get?
2014 offensive tackle group is better than 2013?s. NFL Network?s Mike Mayock met with reporters at the Combine on Sunday and raved about this draft?s top three offensive tackle prospects ? Taylor Lewan (Michigan), Jake Matthews (Texas A&M) and Greg Robinson (Auburn). He even said this year?s trio could be better than last year?s top three, whom all went in the draft?s first four selections. Throw in Alabama?s Cyrus Kouandjio and Notre Dame?s Zach Martin, and you have an extremely talented crop of offensive tackles in this draft.
do the Vikings have a shot of getting a good fa O-line man....or getting one the outstanding O-line in the draft, this Greg Robinson looks to be a MONSTER O-line man
I sure hope so. I think they will be looking to upgrade through free agency in a couple areas, and the O-line might be one. Gotta look at QB's too, and a lot of emphesis is going to be put on the defensive side of the ball. There is a lot of really talented guy's out there, I just think the Vikings have so many holes to plug, they are probably not exactly sure wich way their going to go. Their definitely going to have to play the board very well.
That would be nice. Here is a list of some of the best entering free agency... 1. Eugene Monroe, OT, Baltimore Ravens 2. Alex Mack, C, Cleveland Browns 3. Jared Veldheer, OT, Oakland Raiders 4. Branden Albert, OT, Kansas City Chiefs 5. Rodger Saffold, T/G, St. Louis Rams 6. Anthony Collins, OT, Cincinnati Bengals 7. Michael Oher, OT, Baltimore Ravens 8. Jon Asamoah, G, Kansas City Chiefs 9. Zach Strief, OT, New Orleans Saints 10. Zane Beadles, G, Denver Broncos Just about everybody and his brother are looking for FA's on the O-line, to step in and fill some holes. There is going to be a lot of competition, and there's some real talent out there too.
wow that's some list cause Phil Loadholt and the O-line needs some building up,but so does the Defense it needs Lbs's another Safety a Cornerback not to sure about Chris Cook.....i hope Khalil Mack is there when they pick at 8th if so pick him up and then trade down
Report from PFT's Mike David Smith; Veteran tight end John Carlson is on the way out in Minnesota. Carlson, who has spent the last two seasons with the Vikings, will be released, according to Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports. The 29-year-old Carlson has had at least three concussions in the last three seasons, and after his latest concussion cut short his 2013 season, he acknowledged that he would have to consider calling it a career. But Garafolo reports that Carlson and the Vikings had been talking about a restructured contract, which suggests that Carlson still wants to play in the NFL. Last year Carlson played in 13 games, catching 32 passes for 344 yards and a touchdown.
Here's an idea...since he's no longer wanted in Philly, how about Micheal Vick in Minnesota. I read today that Peterson thinks if Vick was the QB, the Vikes would be a playoff team. I dont think its too crazy of an idea. What do you fellers think? Want Ponder to be the starter, or Vick?
NFL.com... The Minnesota Vikings announced Thursday that defensive tackle Letroy Guion has been released. The 26-year-old started 13 games in 2013, but compiled just 21 tackles and one sack. The move will save the Vikings $4 million in cap space. Guion was not producing in correlation with what he would cost in the final year of his contract. The Vikings now find themselves in desperate need of defensive tackles -- with Sharrif Floyd the biggest name under contract. Mike Zimmer told reporters Thursday he would like to bring back veteran Kevin Williams -- as he said with nearly every Minnesota free agent. The Vikings have upwards of $40 million in cap space available to chase defensive linemen who will fit Zimmer's scheme. Luckily for Minnesota, there also is a deep pool of defensive talent to throw money at in free agency. The team also announced it released receiver Greg Childs, who was drafted in the fourth round in 2012 and tore up both of his knees. Childs never played a down for the Vikings.
i like the moves coach Zimmer has made if Vikings can bring back Kevin Williams cool he has some gas left in the tank,i think it's time to get tough enough of this not being ready to play crap, there were times they looked just pitful....Ponder or Vick i would pick vick but he can't stay well he's an injury prone qb,i kinda think Aaron Murray and Jimmy Garoppolo are diamonds in the rough qb's,they got money to spend get another FA D-line man...i do like the signing of Matt Asiata
