Colt McCoy is now a 49er. The Browns traded McCoy and a 6th round pick to San Francisco for their 5th and 7th round picks. I kinda figured he was gone but TRADED to the 49ERS . . . didn't see that one coming.
at least they got something out of him . how long before his dad and brother start running there mouths how Colt is the best QB on the 49ers roster ?
Im so glad I dont have to listen to all the "Start Colt, he didnt get a fair shake" talk.......I can't handle that anymore.
And so passes another Browns QB who failed in Cleveland and likely will serve in only a backup role going forward. Look to the QB selections when wondering why we're 73-151 since 1999.
That is a pretty good deal for you guys. A bit more than I anticipated you getting (Which was nothing.) But no where near as good as what the 49ers got for another guy I thought wasn't going to be traded because he would end up getting cut in Alex Smith. To be honest if I were San Franciso I wouldn't have given up more than a 6th round for him but then they gave up their 6th round pick for Bouldin in an absolute robbery. So I guess they can afford to overpay a little on a second string QB.
MD, the key here IMHO, was the Browns wanted that 5th and the Browns giving up the 6th gave SF the motivation to get this done. I'm happy with this trade, gives us a 7th rounder to get our pick of punters prior to UDFA hitting.
Farewell, Colt. Though, he didn't 'fare so well' in his first 15 starts... Completion - 57.4 Passing Yards - 3,385 Yards-per-Attempt - 6.5 Touchdowns - 14 Interceptions - 17 QB Rating - 72.6 Game-Winning Drives - 1 Record - 5-10 Definitely not the stuff you want out of your starting QB.
