    Ok fellas,

Who else is jacked to see what this team looks like? This is probably the least indicative game in all of the Ravens preseason history, but, oddly, it is the one I am looking forward to the most. It is the kick off of the 2018 season for all NFL fans to watch as a stand alone game but, more importantly, it is the one where we get to see the new look offensive players take the field and see what they look like against guys who are trying to stop them.

All reports from camp are super positive in just about every aspect of the Ravens team, but then again, aren't they almost always super positive in training camp?

Here is where we can all put our analyst hats on and break down players, plays and schemes and see what we like and don't like right off the bat at the beginning of training camp.

Are you ready for some football?

This is probably the most meaningless football game in existence, and we'll likely not see first stringers touch the field at all, or substantially. That said, I'm also excited to see football again. Uniforms are on the field, the football is being tossed around... meaningless or not, I'll be watching. Gotta hold on to the optimism and excitement while I can, right?

Here's to good health for both teams. Regardless of final score, as long as everyone comes away healthy, it was a good game.

I hope to see a lot of Lamar but I doubt we see more than a quarter from him. I'm pumped up to see some actual football even if it is watered down as can be.

Really? I thought it may be the opposite. I thought we might, MAYBE see Joe for 1 series, then Griffin the remainder of the first quarter then Jackson for all of the 2nd and 3rd quarters and then Woodrum in 4th Quarter duty.

Something like that. I would expect they put Jackson on the field with 2nd,3rd and 4th stringers to ensure him a little success and to build his confidence along with some "let's see what the kid can do" mentality. I think this game will determine exactly how far he has to go. If he tears up the back ups with his arm, then he is ahead of schedule. If he struggles to pass and reverts to running and tears them up running, then he is about where we thought he would be in his development: a project that needs tons of more pocket work.

Either way, the game will be exciting to me!

I was like who is 11? Oh Perriman! No idea why the Ravens kept him around. He doesn't have it at all. Total bust.

  6. New DC so aggressive but doesn’t send the full house

I am liking what I am seeing out of Hayden Hurst so far. Catching everything. Tim White is impressing as well

That's why I put White on my must have receivers for the team. He seems to play a bit bigger. Perriman, again, dear sweet baby jeebus he is bad.

Orlando Brown looked good against his competition. Correa had splash moments too.

Now on to the Jackson show. He certainly can't look worse than Woodrum!

Man the Bears receivers just don't feel like catching today. Also this helmet rule is going to be a pain in the ass all season.

I can't tell you how many times I said "Dammit 27" tonight. That guy isn't making the team.

I will admit, Lamar Jackson throws the best wobbly passes since Billy Kilmer.

I somewhat took mental notes and I wanted to watch again when I can concentrate on some of the individual plays.

Correa looked much better playing in the OLB spot
Kenny Young looked pretty good being in the right places and playing with lots of energy
Hurst looked good, he seemed to have strong hands and be a ball snatcher, which I liked to see
Perriman is just not a good football player
Brown jr looked the part. He moved well and did not look like he was over matched. (That is good considering the talent level of the guys he was blocking)
Jackson seemed to be pretty decent. He made some great throws, he made some poor throws, he made some good choices to run, he made some poor choices to run. Overall, it was a mixed bag and clearly showed he has a plenty to learn and grow over the full season.

  14. Disappointed they didn't play Joe for a series, but there's still a few more games.

Perriman is a total bust and a waste of the $645,000 roster bonus for the year. After his sophomore campaign, I thought he had a chance, but he really has given up mentally and needs to be banging on other teams doors for opportunities sooner than later.

The opposite can be said for Correa. He looks like a new player. He had the best night of all players all around.

Chuck Clark had a nice INT with a 15 yard return. He looked good in training camp and I made a note to watch him in games. He didn't disappoint.

Same for Bennett Jackson with that safety blitz sack on Chase Daniel. He was untouched, but hit him hard.

Don't sleep on Anthony Averett yet. He looked good in TC too, but him getting beat was more because they had him on Javon Wims who is 6-4/215. He's a totally catchable receiver, but his height and jumping ability created that mismatch. If he makes the team he'll probably a back nickel DB.

Hurst looked really good. A few more years of maturity on his fellow rookies and journeymen really shows especially on diagnosing and hitting the seem on that TD catch.

Maxx Williams looks like he's coming around a bit. He'll never be a game breaker, but he can gain chunks of yardage and be a redzone threat.

Boyle made his obligatory catch for 12yds. I think our TEs are really going to make our offense this year.

anyone catch an eye on DeShon Elliott? I remember seeing him flashing in a few plays but can't remember if it was after the paly was over or he was on the ball. He was a guy that I was very intrigued by. He seems to have that knack to be around the ball and just make plays.

I agree, and he reminds me of Haruki Nakamura

  16. Elliott was around the ball. I didn't notice him much, but he did get a hand on the ball after Correa caused that fumble.
