Rockies returning to Rocktober Colorado's 8th straight win has the club back in the postseason for the second straight year.
It's official: baseball fans will be treated to two tiebreaker games on Monday. The Dodgers beat the Giants, 15-0, on Sunday, while the Rockies defeated the Nationals, 12-0. The two teams will now square off in a tiebreaker game Monday at Dodger Stadium to decide who will be the National League West champion, and who will play in Tuesday's NL Wild Card Game. The winner of that Dodgers-Rockies tiebreaker matchup will play the Braves in the NLDS and would host Game 1, while the loser will be the road team in the Wild Card Game. • Postseason bracket and schedule Meanwhile, the NL Central is also coming down to a Game 163 on Monday. The Brewers beat the Tigers, 11-0, while the Cubs beat the Cardinals, 10-5. Chicago and Milwaukee will face off in a tiebreaker Monday at Wrigley Field to determine the division champ and the Wild Card entrant. Whoever wins a Brewers-Cubs tiebreaker will move on to the NLDS and await the Wild Card Game winner, and would also own home-field advantage throughout the NL playoffs. The loser would host Tuesday's Wild Card matchup. The tiebreaker game deciding the NL Central will be Monday at 1:05 p.m. ET, with the game deciding the NL West to follow at 4:09 p.m. Both games will be on ESPN. (NBC's HBT)
