TJ Watt and McFarland played good everyone else played ugly
The oline gave Pickett zero time to pass. Pickett threw off target all game. The running game couldn’t get out of the backfield without any blocking.
The defense leaked like a sieve. I didn’t know that they had a punt team until well into the third quarter. Even Watt looked crappie to start the game. After he got his first sack he was like a shark in the water smelling blood and looking for more food.

 

It was a tough watch. Unprepared and Canada sux Moose.

 

I was going to say the exact same thing no lie, the only 2 bright spots were TJ and McFarland.

everyone else didn’t show up.

The slipping on the field has got to stop, I hate the fact that a college game was played on the field the day before. Also you figure the Steelers would know better and wear the appropriate footwear!

I know it was vanilla defense in the preseason but it looked like the timing and everyone was on the same page. I was at the game yesterday and it looked like they were so off! Either Kenny was throwing behind them all day, or the receivers were supposed to sit in the zone and Kenny was throwing to a space.

This defense made Aayiuk look like an all pro!! How many times did he run deep in routes all the way across the field and was always open at the end of the route!!!

Forgot about this nugget first time the opening week was at home in 13 years and the team plays like that!! Maybe they prefer to open on the road!

 

since you commented on Canada, what the hell was the predictable game calling run, run, pass!!! Nobody is going to win a game like that.

 

Same thoughts about the good. Those two and nothing more. They better figure it out or we'll be savoring a top five pick.

Right up there with Watts sacks. I’ll put Washington in the good just for that block. That was a thing of beauty.

 

Now we get the Browns when we might be short on the dline. Nothing like timing

Cam Heyward headed to IR with a groin injury.

 

Food for thought: Pickett had a better game than either Josh Allen or Joe Burrow against a much better defense than either of them played. It’s just week one, the sky isn’t falling.

 

I've got more faith they bounce back over the season than in.do Pickett will.

 

The point is that we still have something to look forward to

 

Heyward to get surgery on his groin and miss up to 8 weeks.
Dionte Johnson to miss a few weeks with a hamstring.
Heyward will be missed a lot more than Johnson, but they are both good players.
Forgot Okafor in concussion protocol and that might force us to start Jones against Garrett this week.

 

I’m leaning towards replacing Heyward this offseason. He’s going down hill right in front of our eyes. It would be nice if we could send him out like Bettis with a ring on his finger.

 

Losing Heyward is a big blow. Watt gets all the press but my feeling the last two years was tha Cam was the MVP of the defense. He did a lot of dirty work and im not very confident in the next man up on our dline.

 

Bring up Fehoko gotta stuff Nick Chubb and set a tone . F’n Canada sux . Sounds like Chuks is out maybe Jones at LT Moore to RT. And please more DW / 12 man sets and F—k the jet sweeps

 

So in his Tuesday press conference Tomlin basically said the defense suffered some miscommunication and pre snap move saying it looked like they were playing in front of a loud noise for the first time. Now as the 49ers offense would be on the field their fans would be mostly quiet so basically out crowd was to noisy for the D guess they are supposed to be quiet when the D is on the field
