Its all media BS. He's good. He threw 2 picks at practice in front of reporters and they thought they had a story.

Mike MacDonald loves him and says he is the starter.

There's a short video on the 'MONDAY MORNING QUARTERBACK' thread, last post I believe that addresses this.

Report: Vikings agree to contract extension with offensive coordinator Wes Phillips

The Vikings agreed to a multiyear contract extension with offensive coordinator Wes Phillips, Ben Goessling of the Star Tribune reports. Phillips was entering the final year of his deal.

The team signed General Manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah and coach Kevin O’Connell to new deals earlier this offseason.

Phillips followed O’Connell to Minnesota in 2022 when the Vikings hired O’Connell as their head coach. Phillips was one of O’Connell’s first hires, giving Phillips an offensive coordinator job for the first time.

Phillips first coached with O’Connell in Washington in 2017-18, and they were together again on the Rams in 2020-21.

Phillips, 46, does not call the plays, but he helps organize the team’s game plan during the week and plays a big role on game day.

Defensive coordinator Brian Flores also is entering the final year of his contract, per Goessling. Flores hopes for a second chance as a head coach after interviewing for three jobs this offseason.

3 Minnesota Vikings players who stood out the most during minicamp

The Minnesota Vikings had a productive minicamp last week after their entire team showed up for the workouts. They are looking to build on a promising 2024 campaign, and some players stepped up to make them believe they can.

We wanted to highlight three players we saw as the winners from the workouts, not saying there were not more. The three players we are mentioning, though, are the ones who not only spoke up, but also are the ones who, with strong enough seasons, could make the difference between a Wild Card season and a Number-One Seed.

    Jordan Addison, Wide Receiver
Jordan Addison has proven his rookie season was not a fluke and that the production could be replicated, even without Kirk Cousins. With J.J. McCarthy coming in, it was a new set of questions around him, and all week, the talk and clips centered on how well Addison looked with McCarthy throwing him the ball. On top of all of that, McCarthy mentioned he would be staying in Minnesota with Addison so they could work together more ahead of training camp.

    Dallas Turner, Edge Rusher
Dallas Turner was buried behind the likes of Jonathan Greenard and Andrew Van Ginkel on the edges of Minnesota's defense in 2024. So it is understandable that he didn't have many chances, on top of the fact that Brian Flores is very conservative in his approach to using rookies. That being said, Turner was one of the standouts on defense during minicamp last week. If they can add Turner to the rotation of pass rushers, they will be able to keep them all fresh, and we have seen that be a winning formula for Super Bowl teams in the past.

    J.J. McCarthy, Quarterback
You thought we wouldn't include the quarterback who answered all the arm strength questions? All jokes aside, seeing McCarthy in action for the first time in 10 months was enough to get him on this piece. He moved well in clips posted to social media, his arm looked good, and while there were some reported interceptions, there will be growing pains. McCarthy will be officially named the starter during training camp but for now just enjoy him being back on the field.

Speaking of, Addison... he has a July 15th court date for his last DUI thing in LA. Even if found not guilty or guilty of the misdemeanor charge against him, the NFL will likely impose a ruling after this case has completed.

The standard penalty for DUI things in the NFL is normally 3 games... stay tuned.
