Steelers Draft and Mel Kiper sucks thread!!

The above draft is BULLSHIT, but it's an exercise in getting familiar with the players.
1. Manning may not even come out, let alone be there at pick 6, getting passed by CLE & NYJ I had to give up a lot, including next years first rounder.
2. Tate is going in the first round
3. Mahlman might be there in the third, they like Wisconsin and Ohio State guys, draft history proves that beyond a shadow of a doubt.
4. Eli Stowers is a fucking stud TE, might even sneak into round 1 with a great 2025 season.
5. Muhammad is a day 2 CB, not sure why profootball network has him so low.
6. Rayshawn Benny is a second round 5 Technique, see my point above.
7. Brown has a lot of good traits, one being able to win a game with a blocked kick, and they will be drafting a safety in 2026. .

 

Some trading up, I'm guessing

 

yeah had to give up a first and third in 2027. This is predicated on Pittsburgh finishing 8-9 and picking just before 20. If they tank and go let's say 5-12 then they won't have to give up as much. So if this happens, and I threw up in my mouth a little, you have to root for Cleveland to do better, and for that matter Jacksonville too.

Allar and Tate, no brainers. Igbinosun and Everette because one has to hit, and Slay is 34. Zuhn is a massive dude with good feet and a condor like wingspan potential first round pick. Walker Parks at 212 because he is quick off the ball and pulls well. Competition and depth at OG because Seamalu will be 32 during the 2025 season. Kahlil Barnes likes hitting people, sign me up. I could not responsibly pass on Eli Stowers because of value. If Freirmuth gets another concussion and then Darnell Washington is TE1, not a great plan at all. Don't expect Stowers to be there this late, (116) he is a solid early day 2 sleeper. I keep trying to find Ohio State guys, following the Steeler drafting pattern. But some of the prospects were taken before I could grab them. No way are the Steelers getting Sonny Styles with the need for a franchise QB. Maybe a miracle happens and pick 185 turns out to be the steal of the draft. You got to root for a kid who asks for the playbook the day after he was drafted. I am having a Mel Kiper Sucks T shirt printed for the 2026 draft. Any National Draft Talent Evaluator who is such a Narcissist and total Jackass for 3 days on National TV deserves to be called out. I have no idea how Disney/ABC tolerates such behavior, maybe it helped the ratings? Or maybe people who live for those 3 days of the NFL Draft have grown tired of Kiper's schtick. I noticed Field Yates kept mostly quiet during Mel's rants and tantrums, he should have called him out like Reece Davis did. Conversely, Todd McShay has a podcast and I have changed my opinion of him. He really likes the Kaleb Johnson pick and spells out why he was the perfect pick in round 3. He used to be good tv for viewers, offering an alternate opinion willing to go toe to toe with a self-anointed "draft expert". Nobody outside of ESPN calls Kiper a Draft Expert. I think after his 2025 meltdown anyone can easily form their own opinion. I've been saying it for 16 drafts, MEL KIPER SUCKS. BTW Where is Jimmy Clausen Mel? Mark my words, Sanders will fail in Cleveland and blame everyone but himself. Kiper will never apologize for being so off, he can't because his ego won't allow it.

Had to sell the farm ^ to get Allar. The deal is that NFL Mockdraft Database does not let you trade future picks. I think their rankings align better with prospects, but they also give Pittsburgh a fuckton of compensatory picks already figure in, whereas Pro Football Network is straight forward 1 player per round based on The Steelers picking 19th. To each his own, but when I am standing in the crowd next April I want to be informed and have the most knowledge, and familiaritiy with prospects as possible. I don't want to be a drunken Yahoo in the crowd who is clueless and just there amongst the projected 750,000 fans expected to be in attendance. (Green Bay is Podunk campared to the 'Burgh, much more centrally located in the continental U.S. and they had 600,000) Patrick Payton is a super sleeper who had 10 PDF leading the nation in 2023, and has coverage skills. TJ cannot play forever.

 

The more I read about Lanorris Sellers the more I am convinced he will be the guy Tomlin and Smith will covet in the 2026 draft. Kid is built like a linebacker with pure NFL arm talent. I still like Allar, some guys on Depot don't, but like Howard, he has height, which getting balls batted down by DE matter. Cleveland is going to get really good with two top 10 picks, my projection. The crazy thing is that they keep drafting QB, all they had to do all along is to keep Baker Mayfield. Tampa Bay would like to thank their ineptness each and every day. They thought they had the Messiah in Watson, one of the worst trades since New Orleans gave up the house for Ricky Williams. Will Howard will end up being the better and safer pick than Gabriel and Sanders. And Milroe with the right coaching will also shine for a team with patience. Not sure about Dart, Giants OL is iffy, and if you remember the profile, he played much worse when the competition stepped up in the SEC ( Georgia, Alabama) now he faces Philly twice a year, Yikes. Back to the Browns, they even tried DTR, now with the Eagles, even he will do better with a fresh start. How many Fresh starts will Kenny Mittens get, already on his 3rd team in 4 seasons. Cleveland, where QBs go to die.

 

OK my third mock today, I kind of think I am ahead of the curve. While Yinz are planning next week's Memorial Day BBQ, I am doing mocks 11 months in advance. Besides just the wife and myself. Porterhouse for me,(over charcoal just tastes better) Lobster for her. Baked potato for me, roasted vegetables for her and corn on the cob for both of us. Have not decided on desert yet, but I am leaning towards strawberry shortcake. Backup plan is Key Lime pie.

 

Proud of my hometown and how it represented. Man, I wish I could've got in and heckled Kiper.
