With the Giants its really interesting. Im not trusting them to do the right thing, but I might be overreacting, just based on recent moves.

IMO, they need to grab a QB right off the get-go, but what if they decide to ride the storm with Wilson and Winston and trade down? Thats a mistake because they would be without a QB after just 1 season. Maybe they decide to go Jeanty, to try and make up for the major dumb move with, Barkley? Many mockers have them going Sanders and the Titans going Ward at #1. What Cleveland does is very instrumental also.

This whole thing is very intriguing to say the least. Titans, Giants Browns all need to go QB, IMO, but the 'PROS', that do this for a living have other stuff, like Cleveland going Hunter or Carter, wtf.

So many things are possible... bottom line, a good owner and GM are needed for stuff like this. Im kinda doubting the Giants, Browns or Titans fit the bill, which is just my opinion based on recent history.

Im still thinking Dart is the NFL darkhorse that could really benifit one of these top teams in the Draft... just like what Ive seen from him.

Random opinion... since the NFL is so big on getting an extra week of games for TV and the players union is against more games, perhaps we can have it both ways.

This comes to mind for me each fall because that's when the Australian Football League (aka "footy") heads into its playoffs ("finals"). They had some wild formats over the years, but they've been locked in with the current format for a long time now and it works quite well. And I think it would be terrific for the NFL. The first week would be a bit odd for NFL fans to get used to at first, but after that first week, the schedule of games would be EXACTLY like the six teams per conference format that we had for so many years.

It would also give the league a chance to have three games at neutral, featured sites - the Superbowl and the two conference championships.

Each conference would have eight teams making the postseason - the four division champions and the next four overall seeds. The twist is that in the first weekend of the postseason, the four division champs play each other, not the wild cards. The top two seeded champs are the home teams for these games. The winners of those games get a bye the next weekend and will host the games in the third weekend. The losing division champs are NOT eliminated. They host the games the following weekend against the wild cards.

Meanwhile, in that first weekend, the other four seeds play each other. #5 hosts #8 and #6 hosts #7. The losers are eliminated. The winners go on to play the division champs who lost their first game.

So looking at the results AFTER that first weekend, you're back to the traditional six teams per conference. Two of the division champs have byes while the other two host the two wild card teams. That's exactly how the playoffs worked before. The top two seeded division champs will end up hosting two postseason games while the three and four seeds will each host one playoff game, so there's still incentive tied to landing a top seed. But... you want a bye? You have to earn it by beating another division champ. You don't get a week off just by being in a soft division.

The last twist is that after the third round, the conference championships would be at "neutral" sites rather than by seed, giving the league the opportunity to showcase two more stadiums with championship games each season.

In the end, you get a total of 19 postseason games and FIVE weekends featuring those nationally televised games, but the only teams that have to play an extra game are going after the Lombardi, with extra pay for the postseason action. The players union would not be likely to object.

And if the league really wants to focus more on player safety while also maintaining the 18-week schedule or perhaps even expanding to 19 weeks, I suggest adding an extra bye week instead of an extra regular season game. The league gets an extra week of featured Thursday / Sunday / Monday night broadcasts while the players get an extra weekend of mid-season rest.
