Giants are having a good draft

Cleveland, outside of drafting 2 QBs, is as well in my opinion

My favorite part of this draft obviously hasn't been the Bears picks, but man the Sanders fall and now being picked by the Browns as their 2nd drafted QB? Something only the Browns could do, fucking hell. Hilarious.

They have like 5 or 6 QBs now and owe a lot of money to that position. How they move forward with this is gonna be interesting.

I know I love it, but I guess most teams weren't ready for "Prime Time" and all that nonsense.

Another traits pick. Speedy 25 year old, except this time it’s a db who gets lost in heavy/bunch wr traffic and has no knack for the ball/misses easy INTs and pass break ups.

    But hey. He’s 6’3 and runs a 4’3

  6. tunafat Franchise Player Bears

Yeah, but hey can he jump out of a pool?

Fuck yeah I love Kyle Monangai. He’s one shifty, quick little fucker.

Emphasis on little. He’s 5’7, 210 and built like a tank so he’s not RB1 getting 15 carries or more a game and lasting very long. Average route tree and no top end speed. Elevated an otherwise shitty college team and offense. Like him in the rotation a lot.

Know fuck all about the MSU OG they took. Quick look at a scouting report is he’s great for zone run and a plus pass blocker with quick punchy hands who can identify twists/stunts, a theme for Ben Johnson. Not a straight up power run blocker at all, and tends to get penalized for hugging guys when he’s in that situation. Big conference OL for depth competition late in the draft I won’t complain with.

I like the last 2 picks more than I do the first 2. Hate how no edge was taken, and a lot of trust is being put in Dayo at DE2 when he’s 26 and proven nothing in this league, but has gotten paid.

Hate how no S depth was taken. Byard is 33 and in a contract year. Brisker can’t stay on the field. You take a 6’3 athlete corner who loses his guy against bunch coverage in man because he’s an athlete, not a corner.

Are Cole Kmet and Gervon Dexter just done here?

Well, you know Poles didn't fall in love with his 4.6 40, but maybe it was the 669 carries without a fumble.

I don't think so, but I do think their seats are getting warm, though I feel Cole has a bit more runway. If Loveland is still hurt come season start, they can take their time and rest him up, Cole just got extended, plenty of years left there. Not what I would do with a #10 overall, but this is the Chicago Bears.

Jesus fucking Christ man.. are you serious right now? What the fuck.. this is where we’re at?

Getting excited about the fucking 233rd pick out of Rutgers?

    Fuck me man…

Just saw this because I’m down in the ABC islands on vacation right now.. but a TWENTY FIVE year old corner back in the fifth?

Oh man… that’s some serious Bears shit. Wow.

The RB room sucks, and opposed to Roschon, known for being Bijan’s back up, or Ian Wheeler, who was nice in preseason until he blew out his knee, at least Monangai ran for 159 yards and 6.6 ypc against the national champs, and has some pretty decent college games and stats under his belt while playing for a pretty shitty team.

I don’t need to be miserable about every draft pick. In a stacked RB draft, the bears got someone decent in a late round worth taking a chance on IMO.

I can't say I hate this attitude. Bring it or we'll find someone who will.

Baegent probably thinks he's got a real shot to be the starter now.

I love how you can find a video of the 7th round running back trucking and putting the 4th round off ball lb on his ass (they teach you not put your head down and tackle guys in grade school, but sure, some great technique here) and walks into the end zone for a TD.

It’s a nice attitude, sure, but it entirely contradicts the narrative of: don’t worry, Ben isn’t Matt, he knows how to get the most out of his players!

Some picks you know aren’t it. Gervon and Kmet weren’t those guys. And now, the coach who knows how to get the most out of guys wants effort. I like it, it’s a psychological tool to get guys to understand teamwork is more and requires more.

But my question was never answered. Dexter and Kmet never had questions of effort and work ethic (maybe Kmet when he dropped a wide open pass from some of us, myself included), so I don’t see that being a problem.

I suppose this is just how Poles and dress up: it’s Ben’s team now with Ben’s guys.

This little dude can make some pancakes too. This hit against Northwestern was impressive.

I don't know that we are anywhere near Nagy levels of inability to adapt his scheme to the talent we have, I mean, we haven't even seen game 1 of what this will look like heh. To counter your point a bit, there was a lot of chatter about how Ben couldn't use Swift and ran him out of Detroit, but he's still on the roster with just a 7th rounder to push him, along with Roschon.

Reddit is all atwitter with saying the Moore and Kmet were dogging it last year, which I do recall us arguing about Moore at the least. Kmet I do think they are planning to use him in a "complementary" fashion to Loveland, but this remains to be seen. That's why I think he's got some runway before they move on from him, especially with his contract.

Dexter is the one that's interesting, because I feel like he's barely "just a guy" - he really hasn't broken out yet, but we are about to enter year 3 where he might. If he does, cool, more guys on the rotation is a good thing. Knowing for sure whether to extend him prior to the 5th year is a good thing, and having a guy on the roster already to take his spot would also be good. I'll never feel bad about more bodies for either line, but especially the d-line.

I don't see how either pick really makes it so these guys are just gone. I do think this upcoming year is now where they have prove it though, with 2 rookies nipping at their heels. I'm not really including Moore there, but I guess if we're spending a high second rounder on a WR, maybe he's also warming up his seat, RIGHT after getting extended? This team, heh.

On the subject of Luther Burden, apparently TTNL LOVES this kid, so that's something I guess? To me it's still way too much of a luxury pick at a position where we had almost the least need.
