Yeah, but I would argue Shough is destined to be a really good back up anyway. Heinicke(esque), but he has more upside to replace Herbert in case of injury moving forward. I am not nearly as high on Shough as the talking heads have been lately, but in the 3rd/4th round it isn't a terrible idea. As for Denver, that one threw me for a loop as well. Insurance for Nix? I think at this point Milroe is really good value, so I don't hate it.
Where Milroe goes in the actual draft is going to be fascinating to watch for me. He's the only QB prospect in this class that I think has a truly elite trait to bank on... but the trait is speed/athleticism rather then QBing. Also has a cannon for an arm but issues with accuracy. Where he went in this mock actually feels about right to me. So I am curious to if this is reflective of reality or if some team is going head first early. (Also a decent chance after signing Wilson and Winston that team might be my Giants...)
Yeah fans like us are going to see the draft much different than the real guys. QB is something we will view much later than the NFL guys. Milroe will go in the 2nd I think, I could see Shough go in the 2nd or 3rd but he is more of a mystery to me. Several of the guys we are passing on will get pushed up, and as always there will be a few fallers because we don't have all the info the NFL guys do. But man do I love this stuff! Thanks for letting me participate, its a little scary how much I look forward to the picks and the moves.
It's ok, you've got company lol. I know what it's like tho when you jump on and just make a pick, its easy to miss a pm. I have hit up nearly every poster between 77 Washington & 93 Saints and none of you will throw a brother a bone ha. Help me Obi-Wan, you're my only hope
I really wish Milroe went back to school but it's also easy to see why he would want to jus get right to the NFL. The guy has an interesting profile but you really need to be invested in giving him the best possible chance to develop. I can see him going anywhere between a Late R1 trade up situation and the third. I really have no idea.
Day 3 is rounds 4-7... did you mean day 2, I am assuming? Honestly, I think he should be the 3rd QB off the board. Not because I think he has the best QB strengths, but because of what Lamar Jackson has accomplished. Lamar came into the league with a similar issue, not enough film showing him as a great QB (57% completion in college). Now, Milroe is a poor man's Jackson, so I don't see him sniffing the first round, but I do see him going in the second round to a team that thinks they can catch lightening in a bottle for the second time. Someone is going to think their coaching staff can turn him into Jackson... Maybe they can, we will see.
Now, that being said, my insertion that I think he should be the 3rd off the board is not a reflection of how I see him, rather a reflection of how I see the others... I don't see any other guy here that I am confident can become a top 10 QB in this league. If he isn't going to become top ten, then you are still looking for a signal caller.
Well, after 9 years, Treadwell is still in the league... How, I have no idea, but here we are. Is that what you meant, you expect him to have a long career in the NFL?
gotcha, I misread that totally. Now I see how you are putting it. You could see him slide to the 4th round or lower...
The only year he got multiple TDs (2) was when he only played 5 games for the Falcons as a backup. He's been on 6 different teams the past 6 years. Only 1 per season.
Oh I knew. I was just elaborating on how weird it is. But hey maybe the Colts get him back after playing 2 games without a target. He got a camp invite.
