We don't want him either. It's all about getting to 2026, so any QB will do. I also would take Minshew.
Rudolph's signing hasnt stopped the Steelers from pursuing Rodgers, it just makes the situation a bit more relaxed in case there is no deal for Rodgers. From what Ive read today on sites like ESPN and some Steelers sites, they are still 'waiting' on Rodgers, but having Rudolph in the locker room is a plan B type of move which is a good thing.
Gardner Minshew agrees to one-year deal with Chiefs @dirk275 Garnder Minshew is moving to another team in the AFC West. According to multiple reports, Minshew has agreed to a one-year deal with the Chiefs on Thursday. Minshew, 28, was officially released by the Raiders on Wednesday at the start of the new league year. He appeared in 10 games with nine starts for Las Vegas last season, completing 66.3 percent of his passes for 2,013 yards with nine touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Las Vegas had released Minshew with a failed physical designation. He suffered a broken collarbone during Las Vegas’ Week 12 loss to Denver and was sidelined for the rest of the year. But the Chiefs apparently feel good enough about Minshew’s health to add him in mid-March. in part; PFT
Russell Wilson left Cleveland today with no deal... he heads to NY to visit the Giants tomorrow - Joe Flacco visited the Giants today in advance of Wilson.
Via Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Rodgers is currently at the Steelers’ facility. I guess this could mean something is happening or maybe not. Rodgers said he was in no hurry, was going to wait, but we all know what one says and does are 2 different things. Maybe word of the Vikings backing down for now in considering Rodgers, prompted Aaron to maybe step up and see what he can get... just a thought on my part as the info available is very sparce. If anything happens, Im sure we'll now soon enough.
Via Adam Schefter of ESPN.com, Rodgers visited the Steelers’ facility for roughly six hours on Friday. Schefter calls it a “positive visit,” and says the two sides will “stay in touch.”
Jameis Winston lands with the Giants With Rodgers visiting Pittsburgh on Friday, the Giants have signed veteran quarterback Jameis Winston. Winston has confirmed the NFL Media report. He joined Tommy DeVito as the only two quarterbacks on the Giants’ roster. They’ll surely add more, possibly through the draft. Winston recently visited the Giants, along with veterans Russell Wilson and Joe Flacco. in part; PFT ________ _________________ Multiple reports suggest its a 2 year deal worth $8M, but can be doubled with 'incentives'.
In leu of the possibility of Cousins being traded by Atlanta as some rumors have gone, which would require Cousins waiving his 'no-trade' clause, here's the latest word... Via Albert Breer of SI.com, Cousins hopes “to avoid the situation he found himself in last April when he was blindsided by Atlanta’s decision to take Michael Penix Jr. with the eighth pick.” As a result, Cousins isn’t willing to take any team at their word. Instead, he wants to see what happens during the draft before deciding whether to waive the clause that prevents the Falcons’ from trading him without his permission.
This is actually good news. In other words, he isn't going anywhere until after the draft, unless the Falcons want to move on and cut him. I don't see that happening after guaranteeing him another $10M a couple weeks back.
The move comes four days after the Giants and Winston agreed to a two-year deal with a total base value of $8 million. Adam Schefter of ESPN.com reports that Wilson’s one-year contract has $10.5 million guaranteed and a maximum value of $21 million. The triggers for unlocking the full value aren’t yet known.
Kwesi Adofo-Mensah doesn’t rule out a pursuit of Aaron Rodgers On Wednesday, G.M. Kwesi Adofo-Mensah confirmed that Rodgers and coach Kevin O’Connell “had a lot of conversations,” which prompted an organizational dialogue about Rodgers. “It’s a new thing to talk about a player at that caliber,” Adofo-Mensah said regarding Rodgers, via Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com. “And I’m always somebody who wants to learn and grow myself and so just being involved in those dialogue was really special.” Adofo-Mensah did not rule out eventually circling back to Rodgers. “For me to sit here and say that anything’s 100 percent forever, that’s just not the job,” Adofo-Mensah said. “We’re responding to scenarios and different information as it comes. So obviously things can change, but right now we’re really happy with our [quarterback] room and we’re going to look to upgrade it in different ways.” in part; PFT
