Cam Bynum calls Vikings' J.J. McCarthy a football 'maniac' and 'gunslinger' Safety Cam Bynum, who starred for the Vikings before signing a free-agent deal with the Colts, appeared on Good Morning Football Thursday and called McCarthy a football "maniac" who was a "gunslinger" in practice before suffering a season-ending torn meniscus during the preseason. "I trust him. J.J.'s somebody that I trust. Just a leader, first and foremost," Bynum said. "The way that he carried himself as a leader but also still following the right way and still listening and humbling himself to learn from the other guys. "But the one thing that stood out to me from him, as soon as he got in, he was throwing that ball. He was a gunslinger in practice. First and 10, simple concepts, he's throwing the deep ball, he's trying to fire it downfield. That's something that I respected out of a rookie. Going forward after his injury, he's sitting there in the defensive team meeting room trying to learn our defense and trying to learn any way he can. He's kind of a maniac when it comes to football." Why didn't Kwei find him a spot and sign him yeah he was a good player but they lost a good locker room guy
At this point, I wouldnt mind. Winston has issues with turnovers/INT's at times, but I believe he could be a solid backup, not quite a perfect fit, but the Vikings are running out of options. Still a few targets out there, not many, but Flacco, Tannehill, Winston or Wilson remain and there's even a long-shot of a Cousins reunion. They have to get someone in case JJ goes down to injury, which still leaves a viable option that in the not-too-distant future, Aaron Rodgers to Minnesota would probably be revisited (UGH). Its a very risky situation the Vikings are in at this point in time, as this team is just inches away from being a SB caliber team in my opinion. JJ, hopefully, comes in and saves the day. If he goes down with no decent backup, this 'Purple Project' goes straight into the dumpster.
Ìt really is SB or bust for the Vikings don't even want to think about Aaron Rodgers in Purple J.Winston as à back up ok as a starter HELL NO
Now a Capt Kirk as a Vikings again that would be interesting if Joe Flacco is still available hope they take him does Ryan Tannehill have any game left?
Want to give him some respect but i just don't know about Kwesi Adofo-Mensah this Vikings fan has doubts
A lot are really digging what he did in Free Agency and Im one, but the QB situation is maybe what people are knocking him for, but he did kind of inherit this situation... just bad circumstances.
Whoa I just read the Vikings thinking about trading Harrison Phillips keep him in the rotation ì think trading him is dumb I mean what could they get for him not a lot high draft pick i can't see it
