Again, I haven’t voted for Trump in 3 elections, but the American majority voted in Joe Biden, so I have to at least raise an argument against your point. I can’t stand the man, but much of what he is doing is for the betterment of the country. The government had become so corrupt that we were sprinting towards bankruptcy. Russia is still our enemy and Ukraine is still our ally, but damn, we can’t foot the bill for every democratic skirmish in the entire world. We will support them, but this is more beneficial to Europe than it is the USA domestically. I don’t agree with how he is going about it, but Europe is finally getting in the mix to help support them now, with the threat of the US pulling out some of their support. Every one thinks DOGE is the biggest joke in political history, but when it is all said and done, this might become one of those moments in history that solidifies the strength of the US. We could not have kept going at a 2 trillion deficit budget very long… China was on the verge of buying us. Trump’s a blowhard and one of the biggest misogynists we have ever seen. I really wish he had learned some manners in all the fancy schools he was privileged to attend. He is getting results in the shortest amount of time I have ever witnessed in my 54 years on this earth. My only hope at this point is that the Republicans can find a decent human being to run in 2028. Take over some of the necessary changes in federal government and start the healing process. This country is so divided right now, I hope my children and grandchildren can once again see a united nation that I grew up in. 20 years ago, we had disagreements in politics, but we had civil discussions surrounding those beliefs. These past 15 years or so, families have been torn apart based on radical right and left beliefs. We will survive the Trump second term and we might just come out the other side with a country in better shape than when he started. I didn’t need one of the radical reporters to get my thoughts across. We need to be careful putting too much merit in any of these “influencers” propagandist musings, either from the left or the right, because both sides have the minions of rhetoric out there in full force.
With all due respect Dawg, after reading your post I would respectfully encourage you to do more reading, from all different perspectives. Repeating that you did not vote for Trump does not give you any points since you are cheering his actions on. This: The government had become so corrupt that we were sprinting towards bankruptcy. "Had"? You don't think Trump, Musk and Vance aren't corrupt? What is the end game here? Is it to ensure that the American population make a livable working wage, don't send their kids to school hungry, allow vets to live their lives out with security and respect, that people can freely love who and how they want, and that women continue to maintain control over their own bodies by making their own decisions about their bodies? Personally I think you are looking at another civil war or the bankruptcy of the USA. Democratic skirmish? That's what you call Russia walking into Ukraine and killing thousands of people? 136 countries offered the USA their help after 911. Did any of those countries ask for their money back afterwards? Were the States reminded to thank them afterwards? How is Ukraine still your ally? The meeting between Zelenskyy, Trump and Vance was a real eye-opener for the rest of the world. What a repugnant show of orchestrated bullying. It made me angry; so angry that it made me sick. How is Russia still your enemy? I think you mixed the 2 up. Trump has one agenda and that agenda has nothing to do with making America great again. Holy smokes this is mind-boggling.
@babyfan You think you could hook me up. Not sure they’ll deliver to Ohio. Moosehead Breweries has just announced the “Presidential Pack” with 1,461 beers, one for each day of the Donald Trump’s presidential term. Canada’s largest independent brewery (employing 300 people and distributing within Canada, the U.S. and 15 other countries) is aiming this marketing initiative at helping Canadians navigate the political anxiety of the next four years, or, in short, getting through Donald Trump’s term as president. “If the start of 2025 has taught us anything, it’s that it will take determination to weather four years of political uncertainty — and what better way to make it through each day than with a truly Canadian beer,” Karen Grigg, director of marketing at Saint John, N.B.-based Moosehead Breweries, in a press release. The beer-maker’s marketing of the pack emphasizes its historic roots in Canada, while aiming to help Canadians with much needed resilience. “Moosehead was founded in 1867, the same year as Canada. And just like Canada, we’ve been through a lot over our 158 years and have persevered,” Grigg added. “While we can’t predict how the next four years will go, we have a feeling that this large pack will come in handy.” The pack is available for purchase online, at a cost of $3,490 plus tax and deposit. It’s available to residents of Ontario, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia, with home delivery provided.
And you have a bottle deposit in Canada too, don’t you? Five cents a bottle? I’m gonna have to start a GoFundMe in order to pay for that.
You're never going to get a response to this, babyfan. I genuinely appreciate you and everything you're trying to do, but you're not going to get anywhere. He's a guy who likes to hear himself talk way more than he'll ever bother listening to or learning from anyone else. Critical thinking is not a strong point. You were exactly right to call him out on the "I didn't vote for Trump" thing, because it's completely meaningless at this point but he keeps holding onto it like it absolves everything else. People are just constantly fed lies and propaganda, in the United States. Just an utter fuckton of it. Every social media site, internet search platform, and media streaming platform is now leaning harder into right wing lies and propaganda, because the current government rewards it. And the education system here, destroyed over the last several decades, doesn't equip people to think critically enough to avoid it all. We're so overworked and underpaid, with not enough medical and social resources, that we don't have the time and energy to sift through all the lies, and instead so many people just take it for face value and accept it as truth. Irish Dawg is one of these people, unfortunately. There are many like him. It's part of why we are where we are. And I don't know what to do about it, frankly. I hope y'all fare better, up there.
With all due *respect.....this might be the most bullshittiest bullshit I've ever seen typed on a message board. *Or disrespect. Take it how you choose.
So far DOGE has... Fired government workers working on very important tasks such as cancer research...all because those workers had gotten recent promotions and DOGE thought that was DEI influenced. Fired workers and then had to reinstate them days later when it was realized they were never supposed to be fired. Lied continously about the amount of money it's "saving" the American people. Made workers return to offices that had no internet, desks, phones, computers, or anything else that resembles an office. Crippled USAid. Put juvenile computer programmers in charge of sensitive classified information. Lied continously about amounts of money saved. Lied continously about social security payments going to dead people. Lied continously about money being spent on transgender mice. Lied about money being spent on condoms for Gaza. Lied continously about...well fucking everything basically. But yeah....Elon Musk is gonna save the US and then the world.
Thanks @dlinebass5 . I take exception to anyone (Dawg) insinuating that I need to rely on someone else's written work to bolster my own. I tend to look at people's credentials before I quote them. In this case I'm pretty sure I was on firm ground. I do a lot of reading of international topics of Interest and always have. It's terrifying to think that there are people who are willing to turn a blind eye to what Trump is doing. If you think you're safe... please know that you aren't. History repeats itself. What the entire world is watching right now is the USA taking quick steps into dictatorship. Do you honestly think that because you are a white male you are safe? Lots of people thought the same thing in Germany Circa 1935.
This entire list is terrifying. I am so glad to see the world beginning to rally around the states by protests. By the way, this is something that you cannot do under a dictatorship.
There may be a glimmer of hope for you yet @Jjratface , great song. Are you a prophet of the Orange One? Thanks for making my point for me.
