Which is exactly what I was discussing above. Those numbers could change drastically over a short period of time, when/if the route to the US becomes profitable through Canada. They don't need your country right now, they can bring it in through the south as much as they want. When that stops, you can be rest assured they will be looking for the next easiest route, which is YOUR country. Be careful what you wish for, you might need more of those illegal guns in the future. That was bad, dark humor, you will never need/want more illegal guns for anything.

This isn't sky is falling story telling. These cartels are resourceful. We have been dealing with it for years in the US. The Candian's are simply ignorant to the universal effects of entire communities falling prey to this. If they manage to successful bottle neck the southern border, the northern border becomes a much more profitable avenue. Believe me, if they are making the effort to go that far north, YOUR communities will eventually become their customers.

No, this is about Trump taking care of his very rich friends. And engaging in a world wide dick measuring contest.

Every policy he enacts benefits the uber rich far more than the every day middle class American. And Trump wants world leaders either to be afraid of him or line up to kiss his ass.

As far as the tariffs go...generally speaking the end user is the one actually paying the tariff. That will be true of a majority of things coming from China. Unless the price on those items is considerably lowered, which is unlikely to be the case. An increase in tariffs in 2018 cost US consumers 4 billion per month. This time around it could be more.

I would be okay with the tariffs if the goal was to tilt our trade inbalance but that's not even realistic. American companies are not gonna suddenly start making cheap products to supply other American businesses. Some Maga diehards wanna believe that's gonna happen but it simply isn't. We might see a boom in our country from 3D printing of goods and that will help a bit but we aren't going to see a new industrial revolution. We consume too much and make too little and that divide has been increasing for well over a decade.

This isn't about economic power. It certainly isn't about the every day working American. It's about a rich guy with rich friends wanting to stay rich and powerful.

Yeah. Let's ask Mexico....a country that is essentially ran by a shadow government of drug cartels...to help protect our ocean borders. And then maybe Canada can line the shores with mooses (meese?) to deter drug boats from landing.

And while they do that we will go rebuild Gaza. It'll be great.

Im not saying to have them help with the ocean borders, they need to help with THEIR side of the Mexican land border. That would take some of the pressure off so that we have the resources to cover the coasts.

It’s like asking a corrupt prison guard to do a better job watching the prisoners.

I'll put aside how childish and silly this post comes across because i want to ask you a genuine question. We'll see if you have the balls to answer(i doubt you will).

Why would you openly and repeatedly say something so insulting to baby? She is as much of a friend to you as anyone on this site. She has put in countless hours of work over the years running that pickems competition upon which you place so much of your own self-worth. She shows you far more patience, and respect, than you could ever possibly deserve given some of the stupid shit you say on here. And yet here you are constantly insulting her and her country. Why?

Side note: Have you guys seen all the videos online of Canadian crowds booing the ASS out of the US national anthem at hockey matches and the like? I mean wow. It took like two weeks for you to completely turn what was a top 2 US ally. I mean if you can get what must be the polite country on earth to react like that then you're clearly doing.....something. Incredible work, Murica, really.

In the last election did you vote Harris, 3rd party or not at all?

  8. IrishDawg42 Legend Manager Browns Buckeyes Fighting Irish

Not that it should matter, but I voted 3rd party in the last 3 elections. I vote for the candidate that most closely reflects my political and moral values. If a Republican candidate crosses either line, I can’t in good conscience cross that line with them. I feel like I am in some way supporting those beliefs or behavior if I do. I get in a lot of heated discussions with people that tell me I am wasting a vote… those same people don’t agree with many aspects of the person they are voting for, but vote for them anyway. It just doesn’t make sense to me. I cannot support someone in an election that doesn’t align with my beliefs.

I also don’t believe in simply staying home. That would be a form of protest, rather than trying to change a broken two party system. I am an American with the privilege of a vote to cast, I’m not going to waste it.

This might honestly be the best damn thing I’ve ever read on this site. I don’t think you will see a proper answer. But still loved this.

    Moose.
Or, in this case, Mice. I would be a whole lot more deterred to jump out of a drug running boat if I saw a line of determined mice guarding the coastline.

Hey Ev. Great post. Je vous remercie, vous-êtes très gentil.

I have to admit that initially I was surprised by the inherent disgust and contempt in socal's post. But typically that kind of response comes from a place of insecurity so I didn't really give it that much thought.

"People are strange when you're a stranger."

It kind of reminded me of a time when we were staying in a shit hole motel in Pennsylvania on one of our bike rides. I walked into the motel Lounge/bar and overheard some of the staff bitching about Canadians. Their entire income rested on tourism, much of it from Canada. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you. After pointing that out to them, I approached the front desk and canceled our rooms and we left then and there. And yes, I did apologize.

Did you catch that game last night? That was a fun game to watch. 2 teams almost perfectly matched.

Canadian singer Chantal Kreviazuk intentionally sang "that only us command" instead of "in all of us command" to protest the rhetoric from U.S. President Donald Trump. I thought that was one fine way of taking poetic license.

Great game, despite the outcome. I think I could just watch those two teams play twice a week and fall in love with hockey. We watch the NHL sporadically. We are actually going to Toronto in April to see the Blue Jackets play at Scotiabank. My first trip to Canada. My wife is a Maple Leafs fan. I lived in South Bend for a couple of years when I was younger and started watching the Blackhawks, but when I moved back to Ohio, it kind of fell to the wayside. I tried to get into the Blue Jackets, but I haven't made the meager 2 hour trip to Columbus to watch a live game. Looking forward to Toronto though, I hear it is a beautiful trip. We are driving up through Windsor and then coming back down through Buffalo NY to see more of the southern tip of the country. About 5.5 hours either way...

Your wife has great taste in hockey teams!

You'll probably really enjoy toronto, it's a really clean city. There is a lot to do and the people are very welcoming. I don't actually find there is much difference traveling through the cities in the United States to be honest, everyone is always so welcoming for the most part.

I hope you both enjoy your trip very much!

Thanks @babyfan . Any suggestions for eateries, etc. would be greatly appreciated. We are staying in a Vrbo right next to Rogers field. Something close to there would be great.

Toronto looks and feels like Chicago until people smile and greet you. And the food isn't nearly as good.

But I do highly recommend Chubby's Jamaican Kitchen. I am a silent partner in the restaurant group that owns it and Chubby's is the their best spot.

    This is so untrue!!

    Alo
    Richmond Station
    Canoe
    Sushi Masaki Saito
    Danico
    Aboriginal Hana
    Don Alfonso 1890

How can you dismiss these places so easily?

I'm going to Chubby's and I am going to protest the owners!

Not dismissing them. They just aren't as good as some Chicago spots.

Canadians are so angry these days.

Have you actually been to all of them? I haven't even been to all of them!

No wonder Canadians are so mad!
