Wow. Dead today. What a world. Now's the chance, y'all - sell the damn team, and let's get this going in the right direction.
Poles' contract is up at the end of the year. Get this team sold, get him the fuck out, and let's get going. It's a tight timeline, but it can be done. Bears better be on the "rich people craigslist" for sale today.
It finally happened. If she'd birthed one child out of all 11 of em that wasn't a total incompetent we probably wouldn't be reacting this way. Still, not gonna treat this like a Nagy/Pace/Eberflus firing where i destroy the contents of drinks cabinet #2. The 23-0 victory in 2006 would've been better timing for all of us, but I'm glad the last game she saw was us sticking it to the Packers. RIP
Although I am interested to see what this might do for the team I cannot celebrate the death of someone who lived such a long charitable life. Eve said it best that the last game she saw was the Bears beating the Packers. Here is hoping this loss leads to the winning ways that evaded her during her ownership. RIP.
That's the rumor anyway. RIP to Ginny, I am sad for her and her family as people, but that's as far as it goes. For the Bears ownership, I am super curious what happens now. The McCaskey's have said she had a plan to keep it in the family, now we get to see exactly what that was.
I won't celebrate her death but to call her life "charitable" is ridiculous. She was born on 3rd base, finagled her way to inherit the team after her brother died, then watched the team steadily decline into a laughing stock all while she and her family extorted the city of Chicago for the Solider Field renovation (which tax payers are still paying off) and are trying to do it again for a new stadium.
Oh. Right. I had it in my head that since Virginia is gone that there weren't any of them left. Isn't Georgie going to do the same thing as his mother?
