Steelers Draft and Mel Kiper sucks thread!!

I'm all for that if there's a guy on the radar that works, but one of the biggest issues is the merry go round of fire then hire, then blow it all up again.

TJ has me worried that he’s on the decline, Highsmith’s ceiling was reached the year TJ was hurt and hasn’t come close to that production since!!!

 

Let Herbig walk he’s been hurt more than active . Gotta keep Kazee and Pierre core ST guys and secondary depth

 

I say Herbig only because he can play multiple positions but you are right that utility is no good to us if he’s injured all the time. Need a backup center.

 

Warren and Jackson are the tops for me.

Steelers need a QB... Wilson wants to return, and Im not sold on him at all, never have been.

In light of this years class, what do you do? Do you draft a high prospect, or would you be better off with another Veteran FA signing?

I think, personally, this years draft of college QB's suck, so I see a real hard way to go for the Steelers.

 

I think the way to go is re-sign Fields and beef up the defense. Try to draft some weapons this year and go after a QB in the draft next year. Probably have to do some Ricky Williams-like trade cause some how they’ll compete well enough to get another pick in the 20s…

 

I think if Jalen Milroe is there at 21 you need to take a chance.

Really good mock, got a new guy for the board out of Toledo, Darius Alexander. Very productive DT who can push the pocket. Remember Javon Hargrave came from South Carolina State. Alexander had a foot injury in the fall, but I think he will be ready for the Senior Bowl.

 

Kyren Lacy turned himself in after being involved in vehicular death and was charged with negligent homicide. Cross him off my board.

I was on Depot and a poster said Ollie Gordon's 2024 was disappointing. This is where stat guys miss the bigger picture. Okalahoma State was getting blown out of some games and running the ball when you are down 52-0 to Colorado isn't in the equation. They were also in shootouts, so again, passing was the priority. You have to factor in that he won the Doak Walker Award in 2023. I don't know much about his OL, but I know their Defense was horrible. He scored 13 TD's, so he can find the end zone. Also he is a true 3 down back, he caught 29 balls in 2024 and 39 in 2023. You make your own judgement, I have him on my board Round 4/5 to replace Najee. All this love for Skatebo, how well will he translate to the pros? I seem boom or bust, I know Gordon can be productive and he has less miles on the odometer.

 

Ollie Gordon is my RB3 for the draft. He’s got good NFL size with tremendous vision.

 

Travis May of AZ sports has a 3 round mock out and it's a fucking disaster for The Steelers. .

How do these 3 picks make Pittsburgh better?? Not high on Jones or Bond, where is the DL help? Some notables here, Milroe goes to the NYG at 34, TJ Sanders falls to 71 I just don't see it. He also pushes QB up, Dart #6, Ewers #42.

 

Speaking of Revel, one reason I am not taking him in my mocks is the ACL. Jahdae Barron is flying up boards. My personal day 2 CB would be Tre Amos.

 

I’m not discounting CB @ 21 or 52 Wow look at Mike Sainristil flip the Lions game around

 

We were both big on him during the process last year. Even with the limited experience, Mikey has tremendous instincts.
