Controversial statement here - Im not sold on Ben Johnson. When you have Goff, Gibbs, Montgomery, LaPorta, Williams and all the rest of those class 'A' players, let alone a great offensive line, I could look like a genius as the OC. " Hey guys, go out there and play football"!
Thats interesting. This morning, he thought he was the coach, now he's not. The Raiders need Jon 'Chucky' Gruden back. All will be well then.
NO,NO.NO. The Raiders had their shot. Then handed Gruden a one way ticket to Tampa. Nawlands please!!!!!!
Report: Nick Sorensen won’t return as 49ers defensive coordinator Another year, another new defensive coordinator for the 49ers. Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports that Nick Sorensen will not return to the position in 2025. Maiocco adds that there is “hope” Sorensen will remain on the staff in another role. Sorensen joined the 49ers in 2022 as a defensive assistant. In 2023, he was promoted to defensive pass game specialist and nickel cornerbacks coach. Sorensen was promoted to defensive coordinator a year ago, after Steve Wilks was fired. Before that, DeMeco Ryans left to become the head coach of the Texans. Ryans got the job in 2021, when Robert Saleh was hired to coach the Jets. Saleh, who held the position from 2017 through 2020, is available and potentially could return. He’s currently a candidate for the head-coaching vacancy in Jacksonville. PFT
If history is any indicator, it'll be the coach that has the best powerpoint presentation and handles a fake press conference the best. Also, ol' Georgie Boy has been really keen on getting "a leader of men", and you can tell that's what he's been making everyone else say / prioritize, so that'll probably be the last determining factor, whatever the fuck that means.
Took a while, but the Raiders have fired, Tom Telesco. After firing head coach Antonio Pierce earlier this week, Las Vegas fired General Manager Tom Telesco on Thursday, the team announced. “The Las Vegas Raiders have relieved Tom Telesco of his duties as General Manager,” the club released in a statement. “We appreciate his efforts in helping build a foundation for the future. We wish Tom and his family all the best.”
Falcons fire DC Jimmy Lake, DL coach Jay Rodgers The Falcons announced a couple of changes to Raheem Morris’s coaching staff on Saturday. They have fired defensive coordinator Jimmy Lake and defensive line coach Jay Rodgers. Both coaches joined the Atlanta staff for the 2024 season and the Falcons finished 23rd in both points and yards allowed while going 8-9 this season. “After a thorough evaluation of the season, and with careful consideration for our team’s future, we deemed these moves necessary,” Morris said in a statement. “These decisions are never easy from the human side of things and we wish Jimmy, Jay and their families the best.”
In news that will come as a surprise to no one, the Patriots are in contract negotiations with Mike Vrabel to make him their next head coach, Nicole Yang of the Boston Globe reports.
The Mike McCarthy era is over in Dallas. McCarthy will not return as the Cowboys head coach for the 2025 season as the two sides could not come to terms on an agreement on the length of a new contract, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported on Monday. McCarthy, whose contract is set to expire on Tuesday, will now look for a new team after five seasons and three playoff appearances with Dallas. McCarthy's five-year tenure with the Cowboys ends with a 49-35 regular-season record and a 1-3 playoff ledger.
The next mistake that will need to be corrected will be desperately clinging to the faded vestiges of the dynasty era instead of taking the opportunity to reboot the entire organization. How often has it ever worked when a strong-willed my way or the highway type of coach has been shoe-horned into an existing organizational structure? You can almost hear the soft pitty-pat of the Boston media sock puppets pleasuring themselves over the hit pieces they’re going to get to write next off-season about the inability of Vrabel and Wolf to get on the same page amidst a 6 win season and another terrible draft class…
Cleveland’s next offensive coordinator was already in the building. According to multiple reports, the Browns will promote passing game specialist/tight ends coach Tommy Rees to offensive coordinator. Rees, 32, joined Cleveland last offseason after spending a year with Alabama as the offensive coordinator and QBs coach. He was previously with Notre Dame as the quarterbacks coach from 2017-2019 and then offensive coordinator and QBs coach from 2020-2022. Rees replaces Ken Dorsey, who was fired from the role at the conclusion of the regular season. With Rees’ promotion, head coach Kevin Stefanski may take back play calling after delegating that role to Dorsey midway through the 2024 season. PFT
