I bet if the Browns fans around the world decided to start a fund raiser to pay Watson to leave, they could get rid of him. Seriously, and in a perfect world, the owner needs to eat that contract and pay him off and then sell his ownership to someone who actually cares and stay the hell away from football.
But yes the owner should sell the team already. I don't think he's welcome when the single worst trade in NFL history is going to cripple the team for at least 2 years and possibly as many as 5-6 years even if they find young, cheap talent. It could be forgiven if he had a better track record or if Watson wasn't a perv but nope.
I really like this guy. He turns the ball over a bit too much, but the dude can fling it. He is a good guy that shares his faith and lives it. He's the anti-Watson.
____________ ___________________ Oh how thankful I would be to see Williams and the Bears destroy the Lions today.[/QUOTE] would just love it my turkey day would be oh so SWEET!
That pick 6 is 100% on Drew Lock. The block almost got blown up completely and you can see the man right there. He isn't coming in out of nowhere. Congrats. You failed your only tryout to have an NFL career.
Ha nice! I didn't even know DeVito wasn't starting until kickoff. It must have been a very late scratch. That being said I would probably rather lose. I don't think I checked that lineup except to see if it was legal last night with injuries. I even forgot who I had at QB until I just checked now.
Well, he’s what a Watson can become.. don’t forget he has had issues in his distant past. He has definitely come a long way and shown he has changed his ways. I’m thankful for that!! I am behind keeping Winston as our future starter until we can get out from under Watsons contract and/or draft a capable replacement. Winston might just win enough games that we don’t get a high enough pick to draft a decent replacement. I actually hope that’s the case.
It would be cool if you sign Winston and get a real good prospect like Beck in the 2025 Draft (just using his name for example) or something... you would have a bridge till a good drafty was ready. Watson will be your 10-billion-dollar water boy unfortunately.
49ers' Purdy, Ward expected to play; Williams, Bosa ruled out SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Barring unforeseen circumstances between now and Sunday, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy will return Sunday night against the Buffalo Bills. Officially, Purdy is listed as questionable with soreness in his right (throwing) shoulder but made enough progress this week to play against Buffalo unless there's a setback between now and then, according to coach Kyle Shanahan. "Lots of things can happen between now and then," Shanahan said. "But right now he's playing. He's doing good. Had a good day." ESPN
This is potentially a HUGE opportunity for Ridder. I contend that he still has all the upside that he had when he was drafted. He's got the arm, poise, and some serious wheels. He needs work on his footwork / balance and consistency in his throwing motion. That's where Atlanta went horribly wrong with him. In his rookie 2022 season, the QB coach was a former RB who was big on the X's and O's, but not so much help with footwork, balance, etc. The team didn't have an assistant QB coach. And for the 2023 season, when they chose to make Ridder the starter, they didn't have a full time QB coach at all. Mull that one over... you're putting your season in the hands of a third rounder that you just drafted, and you don't even bother to hire a position coach. (They had OC Dave Ragone doing double-duty as the QB coach instead, with no assistant.) Any team out there needing a QB would do well to grab him if he's available this off-season AND COACH HIM. The ridiculous irony is that Atlanta faces the Raiders in two weeks. Ridder might have the opportunity to put a dagger through the heart of the team that dumped him.
Rodgers would make 37.5M as a Jet next year. He's not getting that anywhere else and he's always been about the money. Pretty large incentive for him to deny that report.
Report: Trevor Lawrence will undergo shoulder surgery He will undergo season-ending surgery on the AC joint injury in his left shoulder, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports. Lawrence is expected to recover from his head injury before dealing with his “significant” shoulder issue. He injured his non-throwing shoulder in Week 9 against the Eagles and missed two games before returning to face the Texans on Sunday. Lawrence lasted only 19 plays, though, after Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair’s illegal hit after the quarterback slid.
Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes (ankle) considered week to week; X-rays negative Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is considered week to week due to an ankle injury he suffered during Sunday's 21-7 win over the Browns, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported, per a source. Rapoport added that X-rays on Mahomes' ankle came back negative, but more testing and information will be provided on Monday. Head coach Andy Reid said as much following Sunday's win. "Patrick, his right ankle has been hurt. It's not broken, but it's sore," Reid said. "He'll get started on the rehab part of it as we go, and then we'll just have to see how he does down the road here." NFL.com ___________________________ Week to week does not sound good, but Im not sure why they said that.
Now they are calling it day to day. I think he's fine and they are just being cautious. They even said he would have played if needed.
And now its back to, week-to-week... Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes said on Sunday that he’d know more about his right ankle injury after having tests on Monday and those tests reportedly backed up the initial read on the severity of the issue. That read was that Mahomes suffered a high-ankle sprain during the 21-7 win over the Browns and that he’d likely be considered week-to-week in terms of his return timeline. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that tests confirmed that diagnosis.
