Green Bay Packers vs Chicago Bears

Agree Flus was cowardly to not try to pick up more yardage. This after being fairly aggressive in big moments the rest of the game. But I feel like even if that had been a 30 yarder it wasn't going in.

I've mostly come to appreciate how we are all seasoned veterans of this dipshit franchise...

Not a single one of us ever thought we had a chance. Not a single one of us skewed from expectations. We didn't fall for the hype train. When the bears changed momentum (before the kick in the balls) we didn't count chickens before hatching. We ALL knew the kick in the nuts was coming, and defeat snatched from the jaws of victory in only a way the Chicago Bears can do--and we were not disappointed.

When Eberflush decided 'I'm worse than Nagy and Trestman' and didn't go for more yards, the fact multiple guys on the packers DL for the FG try, all perfectly timed, mind you--said if the bears even got a 3-5 yard run in the time they wasted beforehand--the entire kick changes and the kicker wont try to low-line drive it versus getting some air under it--we all knew this can only end in comically bad fashion that is signature Chicago Bears. Packers busy learning from their coaches the difference between the kicker line driving vs putting air under so it sets up their blocking scheme and how they try to block and from where. (Smart football, what the fuck is that?)

Whether Virginia is pissed or not, I don't care. She can fuck off and die already. May yesterday's shitshow be the final nails in the coffin of the latest episode of 'Matt and Ryan don't know anything about football and are going to screw things up.'

Let's not forget the wasted TOs, one through a challenge that had no chance of being overturned. We should have had all 3 left going into that last drive. I used to think Lovie had poor in-game clock management (he did) and so did Nagy but Flus may be worst of them all.

I mean you're basically right and part of me did know it was coming yes. But the reason i didnt comment after the game was cos i delivered a straight right to my monitor and couldn't be fucked logging in on my phone. So yeah, i was disappointed. Maybe against any other team(not the Lions either) i would've just shrugged, but the fucking Packers. They have to pull this shit against the fucking Packers. Im not interested in cold comfort BS about this or that, they had the Packers right fucking there. And the HC shat down his leg. God damn this ball-less franchise.

As a reminder of how terrible the HC is at managing TOs i get you. But in terms of the actual drive itself the TOs didnt matter. Time wasnt actually the problem. They could've ran 3 plays coming out of that TO, they didnt cos Eberfuck has achieved his goal, which was to get to the 30yard line. He was too scared to try for anything else, the TOs really didnt matter. Its incredible to me that they came out of that TO without everyone being on the same page. The communication on this team is non-existent. And we know they werent on the same page cos after that first run guys were looking around at each other like "are we running another play?" 100% on the HC.

Bad parent. This is exactly why i made my kid pick another team. He enjoyed a Dolphins win yesterday.

Interestingly, the brand of football the Dolphins play is more enjoyable to watch even when they lose, than many of the Bears wins ive sat thru over the years. I dont know how they do it, but the Bears have the ability to take a lot of the fun out of football.

I don't disagree. But if we did have extra TOs I think he would have been more inclined to call a couple more plays. Santos has never missed inside 40 yards in his Bears career. His % lowers significantly from 45+. Just another example of horrible situational awareness from the head coach in the final seconds of a close game.

    But it’s precisely why…

They had the packers on the ropes. You’re 100% correct. And me being jaded aside, the packers aren’t a scary team anymore. There’s no big bad Erin coming to hang 50 on this team while making it look effortless after he mentally checked out at halftime; and while yesterday was the first signs of the packers looking particularly average against the bears, LaFleur for as good as he is can’t mask Jordan Love’s flaws, which are well established by now. There’s light at the end of a tunnel that the team that’s handed the bears their ass for the better part of the last 30 years, isn’t so fucking untouchable anymore.

But, now we meet reality. Only 1 out of 32 coaches in the NFL was gonna shit their pants and screw it up, and Eberflush leaned in and lived up to expectations.

    Fire everyone.

Yeah if there's one thing I am totally convinced on....we finally have the better QB in this "rivalry".

My son is a casual football fan, and he has enjoyed clowning on me repeatedly. Yesterday he saw the end score of the Bears game and said, "wow, they probably lost in some incredibly stupid way with it that close too". Yes son, that's exactly what fucking happened.

Pat is 100% right this team isn't scary anymore. The problem is the Bears are falling backwards over themselves to fuck it up. Lets not forget that with just under 5 minutes left, the Bears gave up a game winning drive to the hated. They needed a TD and they got one. From a defensive minded head coach? That defense allowed them to get in the redzone TWICE too, one turnover on downs and the other that terrible throw by Love.

    This really hits me hard.
After watching Caleb bring his energy to the game, and play full out, just to have Eberflush throw it all away.

I was thinking about this exact thing too. During the game, we knew what was up. I left and read the rest of this thread, and the "watch them get a back breaking sack here" - you guys 100% knew what was going to happen. It's not even funny how comically bad this team can fuck stuff up.

We are going to ruin Caleb. This kid has shown some grit and Flus is going to coach the fire right out of him. Ev called it during Hard Knocks that Flus was in his ear. We lucked into a #1 overall pick and decided to ignore the trenches and go with Bates, Shelton, Davis for our interior line.

Fuck this team. I have better shit to do with my Sundays than watch a team destroy talent, and this ride gets worse before it gets better.

In his own defense of turtling and not running another play on that last drive he said yesterday he was worried about a fumble, today he elaborated adding false start, holding, and tipped pass as the reasons. Then he added a little later today he has complete confidence in his guys.
So which is it? How do the players take the coach saying one thing and doing the other?
If there ever was a time for the Bears to replace their head coach during the season it's now. His in game decisions are killing this team, and while there is no guarantee that any in-season replacement won't be equally as incompetent and dysfunctional, it's a step that needs to be made sooner rather than later. I guess acting in the better interest of the team instead of the bottom line is off the table, as well as the dysfunction of securing consultants midseason for recommendations, because that's how this fucked up family operates.

He could've had 10 TOs and it wouldnt have mattered. Cos it wasnt about time it was about game-managing scared.

And this isnt some hard luck tale either. There's a reason this has happened 3 times within a decade with 3 different gutless HCs. This is the personality type the Bears hire.

I wonder how many great Coaching candidates we've lost out on since Ditka, our last real "strong" head coach. I mean in recent memory I recall Arians and now Harbaugh. Two guys that would be about a BILLION times better than all the fucksticks we've had recently. Can it really just be ownership dictating the qualities of a pussy at coach? Kind of like Hard Knocks, "they didn't tell us to not show swearing, but we did it out of respect" like it's the goddamn mafia or something where you can't just say, "they told us to do it". Maybe it's conspiratorial of me, but I could envision them saying the want "high character" guys and then Harbaugh's name is floated and you get a stern look and he's out of the running.

RIP Mugs, the team's future died with you.

A lot of Bears beat writers over the years have said that Virginia hated Ditka for his mouth and his personality. As long as she's alive they will never go the route of a coach that is anything like that. That's why Harbaugh is never an option. We always get boring, mundane coaches that toe the line and are nice guys.
