To add to this... Vick was Atlanta's leading rusher in 6 different games in 2006. He was a human highlight reel, without a doubt. But...

... Atlanta went 0-6 in those games.

The Ravens-Falcons game created an interesting question... no one wants to go into overtime in a preseason game. But how far do you go to avoid it? Atlanta's fourth string QB led a touchdown drive at the end of the game that would have been the tying score with the extra point. Since it's preseason, they naturally went for two. Win or lose, it's over. There would be no overtime.

But earlier in the game, the Ravens scored a touchdown to turn their 7-6 lead into 13-6. Harbaugh (taking preseason WAY too seriously) played to make it a two-score game and went for two - and failed, giving Atlanta the chance at the win. My random opinion (which isn't the point here anyway, so don't get too hung up on it) is that Harbaugh should have kicked the single point to make it 14-6.

Now here's the fun question... suppose the Ravens did kick the extra point. It's 14-6. And your #4 QB leads the touchdown drive at the end of regulation... it's now 14-12. Do you go for 2, with the potential to tie the game and send it into the dreaded overtime? Or do you just give the QB high fives for getting the job done and either kick the single point or have someone take a knee on the two-point try to make sure it ends?

A second question/random opinion... since no one (the local TV networks included) wants overtime in preseason, why not just make it official that preseason games will not have overtime?

This is a really good question and I think the NFL should consider it. Then, if it's 14-12, you could put your QB in a pressure situation and see how he reacts, but without the threat of OT.

Because, NOT having OT is the simple most perfect thing to do and the NFL doesnt operate that way? ;)

This may be a situation where Harbaugh just wanted to 'practice' a 2-point play to see how things work out, give the players on the field at the time some experience on a goal-line play... Maybe a new play or different personal play, Im only guessing obviously. If Harbaugh was worried about the W in a second preseason game, he's wackier than I already have him pegged to be.

As for your second point, Id like to see a team go for 2 in that situation regardless of the 'dreaded OT' looming, which solidifies my 'opinion' that there should never be OT in preseason games.

    Thats all I got...

    He is but he isn't.

He's fast. So with some open space he's dangerous. The problem is he doesn't know when to run. Sometimes he does it too soon...other times he waits too long.

He's absolutely terrible at designed runs unless the blocking is perfect.

I like Fields a lot. If he can ever figure out how to be a consistently good pocket passer he will be dangerous. The physical talent is off the charts.

One more thing on the Steelers QB situation. I believe Wilson will be QB1 and has been designated that from day 1 of camp, but im thinking he will be on a short leash. He comes out flat and I dont think there will be much hesitation to see what Fields can muster-up. Got everything to lose if you stick to what was said or assumed, its all about getting a fast start.
