I finally watched the JT O'Sullivan thing I posted there, and the Hard Knocks Episode 2. JT O'Sullivan, it's great to see how enthusiastic he is. Dogging on Keenan for being slow a bit but it's preseason and he normally doesn't even play. I loved how over the moon he was for the Caleb's base in the pocket for that throw to Moore, because I mentioned above those types of mechanics are things we would gloss over in previous QBs, or think they could learn. For Hard Knocks, it is a bit bland, but these dudes are having fun, bonding, and I know it's editing but they are pretty likable. Except VJJ, still don't like him, and want the Wheeler kid to make the team instead, heh. DJ Moore getting knocked to the ground and then bouncing up, "I LIKE FOOTBALL!", I fucking love it. Chad Morton giving the RBs shit I loved too, "It's gotta be great, I dunno, that looked more like adequate not great". It's clear the Bears are sanitizing this, but I also think I might be a Homer because I am lapping it all up heh. We'll see how I feel when the cunts up north are whooping our ass again.
Just the vignettes about Wheeler's breakneck speed, if the bears cut him no way he's making it to the PS, someone's putting that speed to use. His backstory is even cooler, now Craig Krenzel isn't the only guy for the bears who's trying to be a MD and football player at the same time. Let's hope his career is better than the former's. Just wish I didn't have to see him fuck up dropping some easy passes passes/jugs machine and the coach Morton get on him a lot for it. I still don't get the fascination with the Canadian kid Benedet who stripped down to a freedom speedo and hurt himself doing the splits on an XP episode 1 and now he's doing stand up comedy episode 2? The head trainer said his strain puts him out for the rest of camp. Put his ass on IR and get him off my television. Rome Odunze doesn't have a singing voice, and I don't ever need him to demonstrate it again. The teams' reaction where one guy sings along and the rest of the auditorium boos him was necessary. The bits about Jaylon, getting pissed off about being left off the top 100 and Keenan admitting he can't get a catch on him in practice, but he will the next day (then he couldn't again before that insane INT that went through Allen's arm/elbow and he had no idea Jaylon grabbed it) gives me comfort about the CB1 who just got paid. Seeing him wear #1 though is going to take some getting used to. DJ Moore is a treasure and that ice cream museum he takes his family to is a trip and a half if you're not sober, are downtown Chicago, and want some ice cream. The 'I LIKE FOOTBALL' made it better. This is the guy we need to hold the bears all-time receiving yards record. Austin Reed and his family are likeable. Right now he and Rypien are fighting for QB3, but I think he'd be safe/unclaimed on the PS. I wonder with all the stories coming out of the Pats choosing to trade Matt Judon to the Falcons for their 3rd because they wanted a 2nd from the bears, and Poles wouldn't do it makes the next episode, along with some ideas for DE depth because as much as I want to be positive about Booker's performance--its preseason, and on one of his sacks--he took all damn day to get the QB, but he eventually did, not sure that's happening against most teams' #1 units, but promising nonetheless.
I was thinking, dude are you here to earn a roster spot or to keep VaJJ on it? I was sober and I took that trip last fall, but I wish I was younger and dropped some acid because that place would have been the bomb. I can't believe they're still pushing that disgusting hot dog-flavored ice cream. I also wish DJ was honest and told them verbally what he really thought, but his face did say it all. If there was a time for the first swear/curse word so far in these episodes that would have been it. These episodes are too sanitized for my taste, and because of it lack reality. It makes them appear to be the choir boys of the NFL.
