Carnak was just a comedy skit. So I get the humor of picking the Steelers and Chiefs down from where they really will end up. In the AFCCG.
You didn't play Burrow, actually lost to DTR and played Tyler Huntley in one game against the Ravens. To be fair, the Steelers were starting the wrong quarterback for almost the entirety of the season... So, I get your point, but there were definitely some circumstances in play that skew that a bit.
Jackson is 2-6 vs the Steelers and the ravens have lost 6 of the last 7 vs the Steelers and most of those Steelers teams were not very good.
Predictions sure to go wrong The Chiefs will indeed Threepeat enraging the haters who will once again claim the refs helped them despite the Chiefs being one of the most penalized teams in the league next season. It won't matter as Mahomes put up MVP numbers and the nds silly debates about anyone in the league being his equal. The Steelers will indeed have it's first losing season under Tomlin. Wilson will struggle to be the guy but in typical Tomlin fashion he will stick with him for to long. Fields will come in and play better but will be injured and they will be forced to back to Wilson. The true downfall will come when Watt succumbs to another injury and the schedule down the stretch dooms them. The Browns will win the AFC north but it will not be behind the arm of Watson. Instead he will loose the starting job after another injury. Winston steps in and shows the passing.of his final year in Tampa but minus the turnovers. The strength of the team however will be their defense and comeback player of the year Nick Chubb.
There is a stretch of 4 straight really tough games for them in the second half (Chiefs, 49ers, then 2 on the road vs Rams and Lions), but fortunately they have a bye right after the Chiefs game... if they go 2 and 2 in that portion, they finish with 2 vs the Patriots and one at home vs the Jets. I like their chances also. Allen with the Coleman addition is going to have good opportunities in the air game and if Cook needs any motivation to really take off, Ray Davis should do it. Well they have 2 vs the Vikings so maybe it wont be too disastrous. Crazy how the scheduling has quite a few teams playing Divisional rivals down the stretch... its going to be a week 17 do or die type game for a lot of teams this year. I know Im really curious to see the super-hyped QB play, I wanna see what he's got. Sounds about right to me. IMO, the Vikings are a middle of the NFL pack football team and the North competition is passing them by... they arnt to far behind tho, if the 2 JJ things work out and the defense becomes stout again, especially at stopping the run, then I'll be more optimistic. Im thinking the higher-ups might be too proud and stubborn to let anyone but Jones run the show at the start of the season, then when he blows up, early and often, they will then bench him in fear of an all-out riot from the fans.
This would be cool to see, but Tua still scares me with injury concerns. That QB depth chart isnt going to save anything if Tua goes down, but I agree on the offense doing phenomenal things if Tua can stay in there for the duration.
I like this assessment. A healthy, stay healthy Stafford will be key (capn obvious says). One weakness they may have and certainly a fixable weak point is the defensive secondary... the more stops they make on D, the more those offensive weapons will be on the field wreaking havoc. When the Rams and 49ers square up its going to be must see TV.
Good Morning! Id like to start the day by bashing the NY Jets. The Jets now have gone 13 straight seasons without making the playoffs, the longest active drought across the NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB. The Jets last made the playoffs in 2010. Time for Woody Johnson to part ways with Saleh, general manager Joe Douglas and Aaron Rodgers... but I may want to wait and see till after the 2024 season just to get a good laugh from Rodgers having another melt-down. Thats my opinion, so I got it off my chest. Enjoy your Friday/weekend.
Saleh is a good coach. They tried to get him a quarterback but Rodgers got hurt before he even got started. Poor quarterback play will kill any coaches resume, except Tomlin
Well that's why the stupid team had to give it to them BEFORE the other contracts. Everyone knew it and it isn't a bad ask when that is the trend when the cap keeps going up like crazy every year.
UNDER PRESSURE OPINION I had a thought a while back (amazing isnt it?) about the teams with the most pressure to win a SB in order to keep and justify their current squads and coaches. #1, the Buffalo Bills. Allen and company need to get it done ASAP or they can just blow that whole thing up. #2, the Dallas Cowboys. A great seasonal team, especially at home, but complete flops on the road and come play-off time. How long do they continue to hype Dak and company and continue with McCarthy running the show? #3, the San Fransico 49ers. When you have a beyond great RB, an adequate QB and a good defense, how long do you live with the Shanahan joke jobs? Thats three teams that are really obvious, imo. Windows of opportunity dont stay open forever and the teams I mentioned might see that window beginning to slide down shut and then, BANG, they slam shut.
Thats three teams that are really obvious, imo. Windows of opportunity dont stay open forever and the teams I mentioned might see that window beginning to slide down shut and then, BANG, they slam shut. Another team worth a mention is the Detroit Lions Will...........they have Never been to the Super Bowl and they are good enough to Win it right now. But I agree with you that Window will slam shut.
Yeah if the Lions gonna do it's got to be NOW! cause they do have the talent this upcoming season next year NFC NORTH will be wide open
The Lions dont quite fit the analogy im trying to make. The Lions are an up-and-coming football team with a very high ceiling. They are just now entering the 'elite' (possibly) category the Bills, Cowboys and 49ers have been in for a while. The Lions are the type of team that are going to have a lot to say about knocking the 3 teams I mentioned previously off their mountain of consistent hype to be 'the team to beat'.
