So, just gearing up for tonight, I went back to refresh my memory on everything about this league (I'm in too many leagues). I thought we had cut down the draft to 5 rounds from 8, but I didn't realize we were supposed to be cut down to 22.. I am assuming the change from 8 to 5 rounds is also what changed the roster limit from 22 to 25? Also, with the available roster spots, we would be able to have up to 35 players prior to first cut down... Should probably change the rules page to avoid too much confusion: "Initial Draft and Yearly Draft Rules The initial draft will consist of 30 draft picks (snake style draft). You will make roster cuts on the designated date (sometime after week 3 of the preseason). Every draft thereafter will consist of 8 draft picks. Your number of picks will be set at 8 though you may trade picks for picks, picks for players or picks for players and picks. Prior to the draft your max roster availability is 22. At the end of the draft your max roster availability is 30. If you make trades prior to the draft that will push your roster over the 30 player max you have until the Thursday following the draft to cut players from your roster to bring your franchise within the 30 player limit. If you have less than 30 you may sign free agents to bring you up to 30 or you may continue on with less than 30. You have until the designated date after the third week of the preseason to make roster cuts to bring your roster down to 22. The draft goes from worst to first (does not snake) and the previous seasons standings are set as follows - Non-playoff teams are all in the top half of the round (1-6) and are based upon record followed by points. Playoff teams are all in the bottom half of the round (7-12) and based upon elimination followed by record followed by points. All available free agents including the most recent draft class are eligible to be drafted."
We had a roster increase and a draft decrease. Some of it due to each other. It was just too inflexible with any injuries and byes but the league is still in it's roots set up to be a non-deep dynasty league and because of that we also lowered the rounds. We had to reform a little bit but we did it over 3 seasons or so so it wouldn't give anyone a major advantage or disadvantage. We are finally where we should be. I can't change the rules page though. Tim has to or he has to give me forum editing permission so I can edit his post.
Reminder: Since @Falcons Guy is waiting a few to hear from people, once he picks, I will assume no one is interested in the #2 pick either. If you are interested, please tell me now and we can wait for the #1 to happen before we make any trade discussions, but at least I would know there is interest...
