I'm just looking back at the Eagles drafts the last 3 seasons and man they have now completey replaced the interior offensive line. Landon Dickerson drafted early 2nd 2021. Became a starter at LG after week 3. Cam Jurgens drafted mid 2nd 2022. Sat a year and was starting at RG in 2023 and now will move to C. Tyler Steen drafted early 3rd 2023. Sat a year and will be first in line at RG this season. The draft this year had some linemen but they appear to be just for depth. We'll see.

 

Off hand I dont know who the Offensive Line coach is, but he seems to do well.

And then enters the Cowboys turned Bolts guy who lost the offense in LA guy, OC Kellen Moore. He has some work to do and pieces to work with. He says there will be some 'tweaks'.

"Certainly, we're really excited about the guys that we have in place here," he said. "A lot of guys who can do a lot of different roles and a lot of variety. That excites us as far as just the way we can present things for the defense, challenge people pre-snap with all the different alignments and personnel groups that we can play with.

"That will be a continuing building process. I think the biggest thing is having clear identity of who we want to be, and ultimately week in and week out understanding their role certainly through a game.

"There's going to be certain games where guys are going to get more attention than others, understand that you're a big part of it. You may have the big-time assist on a play that gives us an opportunity for someone else to score a touchdown. Maybe the next week now it goes vice versa and someone else has to help the other guy out.

"So, I think there's that continuous trust as we build this thing."


Kenneth Gainwell (RB2, at this point), thinks the players need to communicate more with each other and express themselves, basically become close-knit. After the hot start and then the unprecedented implosion down the stretch, he thinks a lot of the problem was just a lack of players communicating and working things out.

IMO, the talent is certainly there, maybe coaching needs to amp things up and motivate more... keep these guys fired up for 17 games.

 

Eagles coaching on both sides was too basic and by the time they got tot the end for the season teams figured them out and they never adjusted themselves. The NFL isn't a league run by talent alone.

 

Since Im here on the 'Random Opinions' thread, Ive got a gripe again. Ive beat this dead horse before, now Im going to stomp on his head.

The delay in the schedule release is rumored to be because the NFL and Netflix is mulling over a deal that would send the 2 Christmas games to Netflix. How in hell is this even a thought? The multi-billion-dollar NFL industry is flipping the bird at the common TV watching fan of the NFL and on Christmas of all things. The NFL is set to make $50M to $100M for each Christmas game... so lets all go out and subscribe to Netflix.

Last year the 3 games were split with CBS, NBC and ABC/ESPN, but apparently thats not good enough for the NFL so they are contemplating even more money at the common fans expense. Not everybody is computer savvy, so a lot of people, IF this comes to fruition, wont see the games on Christmas day without making other arrangements.

This move isnt written in stone yet and I hope people with even half a brain will call this off.

 

NFL schedule makers pissing me the fuck off right now. We made plans years ago to go to Jags @ Bills next time it was scheduled because Jeff is a Jags fan. Last year one of the non-common games happened to be Jags @ Bills but they made the game in London. This year was it's actual 6-year rotation and they put it on MNF. As expected I talk to Jeff and he's such a work pussy he doesn't want to ask for 2 days off or even a half day off Monday and a full day off Tuesday. Fucking shit man. He works roads but knowing it, that day will be called off for rain anyways and it will be too late to get a ticket or he won't have his passport.

Oh I'm pissed at both of them. If I can find decent tickets later I will buy them and if he doesn't claim a ticket I'm just gonna give it away to my other brother or dad.

I feel your pain though in 2014 the Steelers had a Monday night game vs the Titans and I was going to go and take my middle daughter is is the only big Steelers fan of the the three. Well being a Monday night game of course be late getting and was thinking i would let her skip school the next day. She had some sort of test though and couldn't miss and she didn't want to be up late because of the test. Damn school and education what's it ever done for anyone.

 

Kids these days. Screw the test I’m going to the Steelers game.

 

Anything grade 10 and under don't sweat it. That's what I've learned. Nothing there really matters as long as you learn it and are ready for next year.

CARNAK THE MAGNIFICIENT PREDICTS

Arizona Cardinals:
The Cards are going to not only be competitive in the West, but they are going to win enough games to put them in the NFC playoffs as a wildcard. Zay Jones becomes the go-to option opposite of Marvin Harrison and the Cardinals defense becomes a strength in the second season of head coach Jonathan Gannon.

Atlanta Falcons:
Kirk Cousins struggles early in the season to regain form but the Falcons stay the course with their highest paid player and right the ship down the stretch to go into week 18 with a chance to win the NFC South. Rondale Moore becomes a major factor for the Atlanta offense.

Baltimore Ravens:
Lamar Jackson is going to have a career year passing in his second season working with Todd Monken. With Derick Henry rushing, defenses are going to balk on play-action to a degree that creates passing windows that look like patio doors.

Buffalo Bills:
This is going to be a year where the Bills look a bit lost to start the season but are one of the best teams in the league for the second half. Josh Allen will have a career year in his first season without Stefon Diggs.

Carolina Panthers:
The Panthers are going to be the surprise team of the NFC and have a shot to make a wildcard spot to close out the year. Bryce Young is going to look like a completely different player and Diontae Johnson is going to have a career year in his first season as a Panther.

Chicago Bears:
Caleb Williams quickly settles the discussion on whether or not the Bears have their answer at passer and actually look to be in the mix to be in the playoffs until the final 6 weeks of the season. Moore, Allen, Odunze and Kmet look like a lethal combination that just needs additional time to become a firework offense, and it could happen by Thanksgiving in 2025.

Cincinnati Bengals:
The Bengals are going to continue the trend of starting cold, but they are going to have a chance to win the AFC North going into the last 4 weeks of the season. Zach Moss is going to be an adequate replacement for Joe Mixon, and Jermaine Burton is going to be an integral part of the passing attack early on and throughout the year.

Cleveland Browns:
The Browns are going to end the year in third place within the AFC North and the plug is going to be pulled on Deshaun Watson. Cleveland is going to try and move Watson in a situation where they have to pay a higher pick out than they receive along with eating some of the salary in 2025. However, Stefanski and Berry are going to continue to be the pair that is in charge of replacing the passer and continuing to build the roster.

Dallas Cowboys:
Dallas is going to look like a playoff team early in the season before imploding down the stretch. Dak Prescott is going to become a street free agent, not to be resigned by the Cowboys, while Micah Parsons and CeeDee Lamb receive record breaking deals for their position in 2025.

Denver Broncos:
Nix shows that he can be the answer at quarterback that Payton needs but the rest of the roster is too shallow for the Broncos to make much noise in 2024. Denver will ultimately struggle again in 2025 within a division that has outpaced the Broncos for too long to overcome quickly.

Detroit Lions:
The Lions will win the NFC North, win the championship game and represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. Jameson Williams has a breakout campaign and Jahmyr Gibbs becomes the primary rusher by week 10.

Green Bay Packers:
Some of the Jordan Love hype fades down the stretch as the Packers are forced to turn to the ground game more and lean on the defense to try and stay in the mix to win the NFC North. They ultimately miss out and have to play in to win a wildcard spot to close the season.

Houston Texans:
Houston generally improves as a team but finds NFL defenses more prepared to deal with their offense in year 2 of Stroud's career. The Texans will push for an AFC Wildcard spot falling shot of winning the division.

Indianapolis Colts:
Anthony Richardson finishes the season as a top 10 quarterback, Jonathan Taylor finishes as a top 10 running back and Michael Pittman finishes in the top 10 for receiving TDs. The Colts shock the league and win the AFC South.

Jacksonville Jaguars:
The Jaguars are going to continue to run hot and cold through 2024 and put Doug Pederson out of work. The rumors of Bill Belichick returning to coach Jacksonville will reach a fever pitch before the Jaguars tap Todd Monken.

Kansas City Chiefs:
The Chiefs do not threepeat after getting eliminated one game prior the the AFC Championship. Kansas City is going to put up pinball numbers through the regular season on offense but run into a wall in the divisional round of the playoffs...

 

Las Vegas Raiders:
Antonio Pierce will rather remarkably keep Vegas in more games than they deserve to be in, considering the quarterback situation, but will end the year in a fashion that will force ownership to remain patient or take a big swing at a new Head Coach for 2025. Considering the last name attached to the franchise, the latter would be the presumptive betting favorite...

Los Angeles Chargers:
Year 1 for Harbaugh is all about setting the tone and goals of the franchise for the future. There will be some surprising wins but the playoffs will remain elusive. Gus Edwards takes the role of primary rusher in the offseason and never cedes it for the year.

Los Angeles Rams:
The Rams offense becomes an absolute juggernaut down the stretch and LA wins the division. Nacua and Kupp both go over 1100 yards and a rookie WR tops 500 yards to give them a glimpse of what their new Ghidorah at WR will look like in 2025.

Miami Dolphins:
Miami comes out of the gate roaring and put themselves in position to win the AFC East. The Dolphins offense becomes the highest scoring in the league and push to break the record set by the 2013 Broncos.

Minnesota Vikings:
Sam Darnold plays well enough to keep JJ McCarthy on the bench until week 14 when the Vikings are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. Minnesota finishes 4th in the NFC North.

New England Patriots:
The Patriots try to start Jacoby Brissett for the entire year but are forced to abandon that strategy in week 9 as New England is 1 and 7 to start the year. Maye plays well enough down the stretch, but the Patriots are forced to stare down the reality that Jerod Mayo may be out of his depth.

New Orleans Saints:
Derek Carr implodes early in the season and the Saints are forced to consider playing Spencer Rattler or Jake Haener, because Dennis Allen realizes his job is on the line. New Orleans finishes fourth in the division and cleans house before the 2025 draft.

New York Giants:
Drew Lock starts the first 4 games of the season going 2 and 2, followed by Daniel Jones entering and going 2 and 6, before the Giants go back to Lock to finish out the season 2 and 3. Jones is cut outright designated as a post June 1 move and New York has to settle into the reality that continued failure at making good decisions when it comes to contracts and drafting have put them in the cellar of the NFC East.

New York Jets:
Aaron Rodgers plays well enough to put the Jets in position to get a wildcard spot in the AFC, but they ultimately miss the playoffs. The entire coaching staff returns, as well as Rodgers, and the Jets try it one more time in 2025 before releasing Aaron prior to 2026.

Philadelphia Eagles:
The Eagles are in the hunt for the majority of the season but ultimately struggle to put a stranglehold on the division, opening up the door for another team to sneak in and take it... Lots of talk in Philly about replacing the head coach and some of the coaching staff to close out the year.

Pittsburgh Steelers:
The Steelers suffer their first losing season under Mike Tomlin and then the franchise has to prepare for life without Mike as Tomlin retires from the sidelines to move into the studio with a record-breaking deal for a former coach. The Steelers keep the coordinators in place and look to hire a head coach from outside, and Mike Vrabel is the name at the top of the list.

San Francisco 49ers:
The 49ers stay in the mix to win the NFC West. However, they will have to be nearly flawless the final 4 weeks of the season to pull it off and end up a wildcard team instead. In his third season as a 49er, Christian McCaffrey breaks Chris Johnson's single season scrimmage yards record in a year where San Francisco plays a lot of 'track meet' style games.

Seattle Seahawks:
Seattle takes a major step backwards this season and finishes at the bottom of the NFC West with ease. DK Metcalf sees his target share reduced for his first sub 900-yard season and Sam Howell sees some starting time as the Seahawks prepare to make changes in 2025.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers:
Tampa Bays has a rough start to begin 2024 and it carries over through the middle of the season to end up flipping their win loss total from last season, ending at 8-9. Baker plays well enough to justify the contract and prove that writing off passers that change venue at the end of, or during, their rookie deals is truly shortsighted.

Tennessee Titans:
Will Levis has highs and lows that may make the coaching staff turn to Mason Rudolph at some point throughout the season. The rushing attack has to be completely rethought with Pollard and Spears but the Titans are too slow to make changes early in the year. Tennessee ultimately has more questions than answers to close out the year.

Washington Commanders:
The Commanders do the unthinkable and shock the division by upsetting and winning it with a rookie passer. Kingsbury operate some 11 and 10 personnel shifts to empty backfields creating space for the passer and options of delivering the ball in short areas. The Commanders have the position sets to make this work early and a defense that will quietly be one of the better units in the league.

 

Nice work Mr. Carnak! I was truly impressed and mesmerized with reading this. You put in some work. You also raised a ton of questions and comments with each team, which I would like to address or discuss. I kinda been waiting for this. Just do me a favor, dont embarrass me too bad as I try to conversate and pick your brain on some of this stuff.
