Holy chit, Crapper gave us an A-, he usually knocks us because he is a Baltimoron.
I don't see him mention Lee or Watts, for where they were selected I think they nailed all the picks.

Go back and I was locked in on CB, but Kahn knows James Daniels has 1 year left on his contract. Solution, get the 6th best Guard in the class with a fuckton of starts. In reality it was a better plan than taking the 12th rated CB.
Beany is a shifty liffle fucker who will excell on ST, they need bodies to replace Pierre and then Neal is unsigned.

Looking at 2025 mocks, the assholes have us picking top 10 or 15. Bulletin Board material Mother Fuckers.

We just need good QB play.
We are mostly solid across the board and I expect an improved run game which will cure many ills.
The WR room is a bit concerning.
The O Line needs time to gel.
But pick up 1st downs, play possesion, and we will be in the game.

Couldn't agree more Pumpkin. I do think they aren't done with FA possibilities for receiver. Courtland Sutton Broncos is a real possibility

Every article we read on any sports outlet says we killed the draft go ,read Steelers Depot if you want a real good experience. I know it's early, obviously but if we aren't headed in the right direction there's a whole bunch of pundants' who, were fooled too. As usual I'm Major League excited for the season to begin

yeah except none of the “pundits “ ever come back on after players fail to live up to the hype and say, damn, can’t fault the team, we missed big time as well….. oh, and their jobs are never on the line no matter how off they were as well

all true but really not the point. Whether they are 100% 50% 10% or less right in their columns, they get paid for writing what they think. I happen to agree with them in as much as before we get to the nitty gritty of the preseason and camps etc we have done very well in regards to the personnel we have selected. Great value in lower levels of the draft. The truth is today they all feel we did really well and wrote as much, in the Steeler's 2024 draft ... that's the point.

we'll find out in the coming days how it all pans out,( which in all drafts there will be risers and fallers) I really don't see too many failures in our 2024 selections but we'll see

watched some Beanie Bishop highlights, too much contact, but he is hard nosed. NFL coaching will teach him to not get flags. Probably a good ST guy.
Reading more on Sutton, charges reduced to misdemeanor and he is in a program. Not sure if he learned anything or what kind of fine he could face. But man Pat Pete was a shell of himself, hoping Trice heals and Rush had a year in the league to figure it out. Watts will be a ST star. I still think they need a good slot and or boundry CB.

Not into FA signings and the cost, anyone know what it would cost to bring in Cortland Sutton. I think we all agree the Higgins ship has sailed, and taken on water. But they do make bilge pumps.
With Sutton it gives RW a familair target, and an established pro. He only had 1 year where he was injured and missed significant time.
I'm a little disappointed they did not land OLB Eric Watts or WR Rosemy-Jacksaint. I guess guys like C. Sutton is still on the radar, and I wonder if M. Golden is still sitting in his backyard grilling steaks.
One of the 2 biggest surprises that went undrafted were Beau Brade S Maryland and Gabe Hall DT Baylor. Both were nationally rated as early to mid day 3 prospects. I did some more research and the tape did not lie, not sure why I though Krystian Boyd was so high, he has some really blah tape, his motor idles too much, not so with Lee. Cannot remember where but Boyd was rated top 100 and Lee on most sites was around 200. Both came in for visits but it was Lee the whole time I should have known better.
So I am watching the highlihts of Payton Wilson, he terrorized Drake Maye, it was comical. I watched Beanie Bishop just steal the ball away from WR, and on one play, Tez Walker just quit on the route, or had no aggression for the ball. No wonder he lasted until round 4 and the Ravens took him, WIN WIN. At the Senior Bowl it was drop after Drop, I did pick up on that.

Depot draft contest, I sucked but not totally.
Didn't think Fauntanu would last.in round 1. Shitballs.
Had Frazier and R. Wilson in the 2nd rd group
Had P. Wilson in the round 3 group
Had McCormick in the round 4 group
Had Lee and Bishop in the round 6 group, but not Ryan Watts, but he was on my board at 183

3 spots open on the roster, Kahn will still look to add players and they just cleared cap space by restructuring Highsmith, possibly opening up a door for a vet WR.

just read a great article in Behind the Steel Curtain comparing what we did poorly, offensively last season in regards to what current OC has in mind for this season (not straying from his philosophy over the last 5-6 years) we're in for a real treat especially in PA passing and under the center formations being changed up continually throughout a game

most notably he thought Pat Friermuth could be an excellent slot receiver. That's outside the box thinking we're really not used to but should be welcomed as offensive play calls won't be so ridiculously easy for opposing defenses to figure out

So going blind here, 2025 Steelers Mock Draft 1.0 assuming Pittsburgh gives Chicago a 6th rounder for Fields. They do get some comensation from Houston, and Philly.

    1. Walter Nolan DT Texas A&M
    2.Maliki Starks S Georgia
    3. J. Michael Sturdivant WR UCLA
    4. Malik Spencer CB Michigan State
    5. Carson Bruener LB Washington
    5. Jordan Hancock CB Ohio State
    6. TJ Sanders DL South Carolina
    7.Mason Taylor TE LSU
    7. Wyatt Millum OT WV
    7.Jordan James RB Oregon

Well you had Kenny Kitten Mittens back there shitting his pants, ducking his head and going weeeeeeee. With upgrades along the OL, and a huge upgrade at QB it should give the Steelers the ability to get Friermuth. 5-6 targers a game.
Pittsburgh went 9-8 and if not for Rudolph would have been 6-11.
Players I am glad they got rid of or traded

    Mittens Pickett
    DJ Tumor Johnson
    Mason Muffsnap Cole
    Chuks RedFlag Okorafor
    Kenyon Overdrafted Greene

I think if they had done due diligence moving Dotson to the right it might have better than giving up on him. 1 year left on Daniels contract, will be excited to see how McCormick does.

I got a few things right, there was a run on TE in the 4th round, in fact 6 were taken.
I whiffed on Fantanu, but at least I wasn't alone having Mitchell and Arnold up there. Fantanu was 7th on their board, they seem genurally excited, plus the guy is a Steeler fan named Troy. ;)
I still wish they had signed a PFA RB, seems like a depth concern to me. Only 1 RB came in for a visit, Dillon Johnson, I guess with the departure of Henry there was a need @ RB.
Having Fields and Patterson on the roster probably precludes the dire need for another RB, I think Miami got a big steal at 120 with Jaylen Wright, McDaniels was not hesitant about drafting speed they also took 2 more WR's who run precise routes.
I think The Falcons and Browns lost the draft. Taking Penix after giving Cousins a shitload of cash is a WTF moment. And Houston using the Cleveland picks, just built up their roster. The Thrash pick was ok, me personally think Kamara would have given them another pass rusher to keep the line fresh.
