https://www.si.com/nfl/draft/news/justin-fields-trade-pittsburgh-steelers-chicago-bears-nfl-news 6th that turns into a conditional 4th based upon 51% playing time…. Well, it looks like there will only be 30 teams we will ever trade with after this one, if the gm stays, he’s never going to trade with us again
Beat me to it. Cheap cost this is how Kahn wheels & deals obviously Chicago is drafting Williams or Daniels . Guaranteed they trade back from 9 they have very little draft capital
You beat me to the punch!! I think we got more for KP!! Sources: Bears trading Justin Fields to Steelers This is quite Amazing!!
Can’t say this trade bothers me for what we’re giving up, even if they have him play, limit him to under the 51% and it’s only a sixth, play him enough to see if they have any confidence in him to know wether or not he has a future with the team, because regardless, they’ll have to make a decision on wether to pick up his 5th year option. Don’t think Wilson will play on the league minimum deal next year, but if he balls out, be nice if he did and then pay him in two years
think poles overplayed his hand and believed the hype and then when all the trades and signings started happening, value fell through the floor…. Personally if I were them, I would have held onto him until the trade deadline, especially seeing how many QB’s went down last year, think they could have got more value I have no misconceptions that he’s the 2nd coming, but I do think it’s a giant QB room upgrade from last year
Overnight Kahn fixed the QB room . The only guy who was worth keeping was Rudolph. The other 2 were shit
Wow. Huge upgrade over what they had. Fields has a huge physical ceiling. KP never will. I have some real hope for this team.
In fairness to Poles he was in an impossible situation. He couldn't keep him, he wasn't getting much back. I like the move as long as they don't pick up the option.
Picking up the option isn’t a bad thing. If Wilson is truly only a 1 year guy in Pittsburgh, then 25 million for the ‘25 starter is a deal.
They may not, but not sure. Steelers plan to re-sign Russell Wilson to longer contract after 2024 season, per report
If this is true, that’s insane, curious what they were actually offered though…. I liked that they sent Dionte to Carolina and hope he has a terrible season because of it, especially leading up to free agency
Fields puts pressure on Wilson. I think Russ and Sean Payton were a bad marriage, but Russ better screw his head on right. Tomlin, the locker room, and the fans ain't gonna tolerate any nonsense, especially with Fields just frothing at the mouth to play. Remember fans calling for Rudolph? Whispers compared to the Fields noise if Russ screws up. Now we gotta get another REAL WR.
And yeah, I forget who mentioned it, but the Steelers got more for Pickett than the Bears did for Fields.
Tired of hearing "Chicago did right by Fields". They had 3 years to do right. They could've packaged him during the draft. I believe Chicago got some offers, but probably WITHIN THE DIVISION, or at least the NFC. Minnesota just lost Cousins. Jordan Love needs a backup. Bears said go to a different conference.
Sup Pump, nice to hear from ya. Watcha been up to? the Bears org are full of crap, it’s amazing that they pull off these trades to get weapons around Williams, if they did this for Fields maybe he’d still be in Chicago. Sans the trade for DJ Moore they did absolutely nothing for him. Now they get Keenan Allen and are in prime position to grab another top WR in this draft.
