Reports: Steelers Trading WR Diontae Johnson To Panthers For CB Donte Jackson

How is Donte Jackson? Is he good?

I didn’t see the trade details, just that there was a trade…. Looks like this pushes WR higher up the draft board for us.

update: 2018 second-rounder, Jackson has manned the corner spot for Carolina in 80 games and brings 14 career interceptions to the Black and Gold

also swap of Steelers 7 round to Carolina’s 6 th round

in all reality though, I don’t know how much this really will change our draft plans, we still need both positions, and Jackson is a free agent next year as well. Question is, will the CB class be as good next year as it is this year to the point they move the need down the board or keep the board the same and let the rookie CB sit and see what Jackson has left as he is 29 currently.

per nfl network, seems the Steelers were being a little petty in regards to Johnson, gave him the ability to seek a trade, but the Steelers decided they weren’t going to trade him within the AFC, and definitely not a contender.

I don’t think they’re being petty at all, it’s quite smart actually I think I read that they asked KC if they were interested but it didn’t happen. So they went this route. If a guy really doesn’t want to be here then ship him out. Dionte wanted out and wasn’t going to buy in to the new system. So we got someone who does and sounds like he’s a Steeler type CB.

Yeah. Maybe the Panthers just had a better offer.
