It’s a protest. You don’t protest when you are content. If you’re quiet, you’re either content or afraid. Most of the people bitching about this are pissed off that the protest occurs during a sillius songis that some have attached some sentimental bs and meaning to it. Without a song and without a flag, the US is still a republic... with rights for its citizens. You know, the REALLY important shit. Flags and songs are just dressing or ornaments.
So now they don’t show the National Anthem on TV anymore before the games. Is their point still getting across?
