So, here we are already at the last game of the regular season. It seems extraordinary that 18 weeks of football have almost gone by, in a blur. I'm looking forward to seeing how they muster on the field today and what Fields has to do. He must know that his position on the Bears team is hanging on a precipice. I hope some of you come to the game thread to watch and discuss today's game. I'm looking forward to the analysis you all provide. GO BEARS!
IMO. Big game. If the Bears get trucked here It’s gonna be a long offseason. All the positives will be washed away. It’s bad enough that this team blew a chance to be playing for a playoff spot. Gotta show the progress is sustainable. I’ll do my best to pop in and help the thread along.
That's great Rob, thanks! I think it's a pivotal game too, although I don't know if many opinions will be changed because of it.
I know this was being discussed in the other thread but regardless of the outcome today I think the right move is to trade Fields and start over with a rookie, preferably not Caleb Williams. We've passed on Stroud and he's already better than Fields. We can't let another rookie who will outplay him right away slip by. The defense is good enough and the o-line is now average. We absolutely should be a playoff team next year with the right QB. And maybe that's a rookie. For today I have absolutely zero hope we win and it will make for bad vibes going into the offseason. Sorry to be negative as usual but that's how these games go and the Flus/Fields combo is not good enough to change it.
The powers that be will see this recent resurgence as a reason to withhold any widespread changes, and a win or loss today won't change that. They will give Eberflus credit for the chemistry developing with the team and the turnaround in the defense, even though it may be despite him and not entirely because of him.
If the Packers win, they get in. Should be motivation from the bears. But….i don’t have a lot of faith in the bears today. They’re a different team than when they let Love walk over them earlier this season, but I’ve seen this team get its ass handed to them by Green Bay way too damn much. Going to find out if Justin’s played his last game in a bears uni. I’m in the minority who thinks he hasn’t.
Yeah dont like being negative either but i've seen this movie way too many times. I'll believe its different when i see its different. Would be great for Justin to go out on a high tho if indeed it is his last Bears game.
Listen, I am with you guys that GB has had our damn number every fucking time and the season opener hasn't changed any of that. But goddamn it, I am going into this with some optimism again, because the bears HAVE looked better on both sides of the ball. It's incredible to me that I can have such a selective memory to completely block the Browns game from my mind, but there it is. What being a Bears fan does to you. Probably won't be able to chat during the game, I'm going to have to stream from the ice rink heh, but I will be watching.
I'm with you because just because he should be, doesn't mean it will be. I heard today that since Favre era forward the Packers maintain a 500-point differential with the Bears. How pitiful is that?
Well it turns out I may miss a chunk of this one. Probably a good thing though I'll be back most likely in the second half. Anyway, what the hell, Go Bears!
We may miss each other then. I have an early meeting tomorrow so the Bears are gonna have to really show up for me to be here past halftime.
Quintessential bears. Do something brilliant then follow it up being completely retarded for the very next sequence.
