Main difference: don’t believe Cousins had been a constant fixture on the team’s injury report and hadn’t missed any playing time before the season ending injury. That said, 20+ teams don’t even carry 3 QBs, and how many have 3 starting caliber QBs on the roster? PJ Walker was the depth signing to guard against injury.

And a good thing that happened before the trade deadline which helped immensely. Even so the Vikings had Hall, Mannion, Mullens with Tannor Morgan (M&M's and more M's) bouncing around the practice squad.

Would McCoy or Ryan or even Nick Foles be something the Browns might explore... time will tell.

Berry said today a QB will be signed shortly for depth, but that they like their QB room, so I wouldn't think it will be one of the names above.

Like I said right after the trade deadline it needs to be moved back. Season is 18 weeks long now trade deadline is way to early

Michael Carter lands with Cardinals after being waived by Jets

Running back Michael Carter has found a new home a day after being waived by the Jets.

The Cardinals announced that they made a successful waiver claim on Carter Wednesday. They waived offensive lineman Doug Kramer to make space for Carter on their 53-man roster.

Carter was a 2021 fourth-round pick and had a regular role in the Jets offense before being let go on Tuesday. Carter played a quarter of the team’s offensive snaps and ran eight times for 38 yards while catching 15 passes for 68 yards.

Carter ran 261 times for 1,041 yards and seven thouchdowns over his first two seasons. He also had 77 catches for 613 yards.

James Conner, Keontay Ingram, and Emari Demercado are the other backs in Arizona.

By the way... The Jets have now gone 36 drives without scoring a touchdown, the NFL's longest active drought, which spans 11 quarters and an overtime period.

Diontae Johnson, Cam Heyward return to Steelers practice

There is some positive news on Pittsburgh’s injury report as the club prepares for Cleveland this week.

Receiver Diontae Johnson (thumb) and defensive lineman Cam Heyward (groin) both returned to practice on Thursday after missing Wednesday’s session.

Johnson was a full participant while Heyward was limited.

Tight end Pat Freiermuth also appears to be trending in the right way to be activated for Sunday’s game, as he went from limited on Wednesday to full on Thursday. He still must be added to the 53-man roster to play in Week 11.

Safety Minkah Fitzpatrick (hamstring), safety Keanu Neal (rib), and defensive tackle Montravius Adams (ankle) all remained non-participants on Thursday.

Burrow out of the game with a wrist injury, Mark Andrews was knocked out of the game earlier. Jackson spent time in the blue tent. If Burrow isn’t able to come back have to believe the Ravens are looking good for the win.

Idk about that PI call. Fortunate call for the Ravens. But I suppose they did have a TD taken off the board by a questionable holding call

Bengals dropping to .500. Depending on how bad that wrist injury is, they are in danger of falling out of the divisional race.

Either their OL is awful, or the Ravens D is that good. Thinking more so Bengals OL is awful

If Burrows' wrist injury is semi-serious, they could be in danger of dropping out of the playoff race.

If it's serious would they be one of the teams that would claim tanahill if the Titans release him

Thursday Night Football: Ravens move to 8-3 with 34-20 win over Bengals

The Ravens got two touchdown runs from Gus Edwards and two touchdown passes from Lamar Jackson, beating up on the Bengals 34-20 on Thursday night.

Baltimore moved to 8-3, picking up a half game on the 6-3 Browns and 6-3 Steelers in the AFC North. The Bengals fell to 5-5 with a second consecutive loss but have a bigger problem with the right wrist injury of Joe Burrow.

Burrow left the game after a touchdown throw to Joe Mixon with 5:49 left in the first half. The Bengals led 10-7 at the time, but the team ruled out Burrow to open the second half.

The Ravens had 405 yards, including 157 rushing yards. Edwards had his ninth and 10th rushing touchdowns of the season on two runs of 3 yards and gained 62 yards on 12 carries.

Jackson threw touchdown passes of 37 yards to Nelson Agholor and 10 yards to Rashod Bateman, going 16-of-26 for 264 yards.

The Ravens, though, have injury concerns of their own with tight end Mark Andrews (ankle) and receiver Odell Beckham (left shoulder) leaving. Beckham caught four passes for 116 yards.

Jackson injured his ankle, needing a trip to the sideline medical tent, but did not miss a play.

Burrow was 11-of-17 for 101 yards and a touchdown, while his replacement, Jake Browning, completed 8 of 14 passes for 68 yards and a touchdown. Mixon rushed for 69 yards on 16 carries and caught five passes for 31 yards and a touchdown. Ja’Marr Chase had two catches for 12 yards and a touchdown.

Mark Andrews’ serious ankle injury is expected to end his season

Ravens tight end Mark Andrews’ season is finished.

“Unfortunately on the negative side, Mark Andrews has a very serious ankle injury. It looks like a season-ending injury,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said, via video from the team. “Our prayers with be with Mark. No one cares more about the team and being there for the guys than Mark Andrews. So, this is going to be hard for him, but we’re going to be there for him all the way.”

Andrews was injured on the seventh play of Thursday Night Football when Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson used the controversial — but still legal — hip-drop tackle to take down the tight end after a 9-yard gain. Andrews’ lower left leg got caught underneath Wilson’s full body weight.

Andrews will undergo an MRI on Friday to discover the full extent of the injury.

Cowboys running back Tony Pollard fractured his fibula and required surgery to repair ligaments in his ankle after a hip-drop tackle in the team’s 2022 playoff loss to the 49ers. The league has considered and is considering banning the tackle.

Andrews caught two passes for 23 yards on Thursday, giving him 45 receptions for 544 yards and six touchdowns this season. He made the Pro Bowl each of the past two seasons.

“That’s who I entered the league with,” Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson said. “We’ve been bread and butter, peanut butter and jelly, whatever you want to call it. It’s very tough, because that’s my boy. That’s like receiver one sometimes. For him to go out first quarter, he’s been having a remarkable year. . . . That’s tough, man. We’ve got to do it without him. We’ve got [Isaiah] Likely. We’ve got Charlie [Kolar]. We’ve got guys who are going to step up, but that’s tough.”

If the Bengals receivers don’t stop dropping critical balls, their season is already lost, regardless of the QB.

Tannehill’s a vested veteran, he would be free to sign with any team immediately upon his release at this point in the season.

We discussed this yesterday.. That is only during the trade period, once the trade deadline hits, all players are subject to the waiver wire.
