Stroud vs Richardson should be interesting, but now Stroud has a mysterious shoulder injury and is listed as questionable. No word on what the injury specifically is or how it occurred, but he was a full participant in practice all week.
I’m not, I still like the guy. I hope he finds a home in TB. The Bears defense and offense need to be found for the fans of Chicago to have some hope, more so than to humble a Baker Mayfield. That poor guy has been humbled in so many ways most players would have quit by now.
Joe Burrow re-aggravated his already gimpy calf he injured in Camp... have to see what develops. He said, he's going to rest for a couple days and see what happens.
Desmond Ridder became only the second Falcons quarterback in franchise history to hit 100 completions in his first six career games played. The other was... ... Mike Moroski. (It's okay. He's never heard of you either.)
I intercepted a pass from him in college. And fumbled whille running it back. But we kept the ball. He's currentlly HC of the Yotes I believe.
C.J. Stroud is off to a historic start The Texans are 0-2, but they have some reason to believe the wins will eventually come under rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud. Through his first two starts, the second overall pick in the draft has completed 58 passes. That’s the second most in NFL history for a quarterback in his first two starts, besting Justin Herbert (57) and Mike White (57). Only Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has more, with 60. Stroud also has 626 passing yards, the fifth most for any player in his first two games. The only players with more in their first two games were Cam Newton (854), Kyler Murray (657), Justin Herbert (641), and Todd Marinovich (638). (Well, three out of four worked out.) The Texans still have plenty of work to do to get to where they were before things went sideways with Deshaun Watson. So far, it looks like Stroud could help move things in the right direction. The test for Stroud comes after four or five games, when defenses will have enough film to figure out what he does well and to try to take those things away. He’ll then have a chance to bust through that ceiling that enhanced game planning could create. PFT
The only problem with the completions is that they were getting beat by a good amount in both games and the defenses were playing off to prevent the big play and giving up a lot of underneath stuff.
Yep. He was the coach at UC Davis for 25 years, and now for the last 10 years he has been the head coach at the College of Idaho in the NAIA. Meanwhile, for all of the media's bashing of Ridder, he is now 4-2 as a career starter. Good things happen when you have Tyler Allgeier and Bijan Robinson in your backfield. Hopefully the team will have Cordarrelle Patterson back this week to complete the trio.
Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes agrees to terms on restructured contract for record pay day The days of Patrick Mahomes being underpaid relative to his QB counterparts are at an end. Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs have agreed to terms on a restructured contract that pays the QB $210.6 million between 2023 and 2026, the most in history over a four-year span, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported on Monday. The agreement could reach $218.1 million with escalators by the end of 2026. The $210.6 million is guaranteed over the next four years, per Rapoport and Pelissero. Sides also plan to revisit the deal again after the 2026 season, effectively cutting the remaining years on the deal from eight to three. In simple terms, the Chiefs moved up money to adequately compensate the NFL's best player and shortened the deal to give Mahomes another shot at a pay day as QB contracts continue to rise. In 2020, Mahomes agreed to a 10-year, $450 million extension with the Chiefs that put him under contract through the 2031 season. Following Joe Burrow's contract extension, Mahomes dropped to eighth among quarterbacks in average annual salary at $45 million, behind Burrow, Justin Herbert, Lamar Jackson, Jalen Hurts, Russell Wilson, Kyler Murray and Deshaun Watson. Now, the new cash flow gets Mahomes back to where he belongs near the top. NFL.com

This is making all the difference in the world for Atlanta, but you'd never know it from most of the media grades of the Falcons offseason. The defense was bad last year, therefore they will automatically be bad this year. Never mind that the entire defensive coaching staff is different and that 14 of 25 defensive players are new to the roster this year. Gotta be the same old team, right? And now if they end up with a winning record, the same media outlets will call them a surprise team.
