Things sure have changed from back in the day.

The reason I saw this is that he was just nominated for the prehistoric spot as one of twelve finalists for the HOF by the senior committee .

More broadcast games from the same number of total games is the whole point. In any given market, you get 3 games between FOX and CBS on Sunday afternoon plus the three prime time games. It won't matter if the extra week comes from adding an extra game or an extra bye to the schedule. You'll still have six more broadcast games in every market either way.

The other side is having to negotiate the extra game with the NFLPA. Adding yet another extra week of wear and tear on everyone's bodies will be hard to sell. Adding a second week off in midseason? Much easier.

Im not sure the players were in favor of the extra game (17) in the first place. Too me it was just a money-grab issue by the League and its owners. In my opinion, the extra game actually serves no purpose other than revenue.

Since the subject of scheduling is on tap, at the moment, Im not so sure expansion to Europe and other places is a good idea either, in fact its actually a crazy idea, but with added dollar signs in the investors eyes, it clouds their vision. Players dont wanna travel the Earth and logistics problems wont be easy work arounds either. Better idea would be to just quit trying to tweak and expand the damn thing and be satisfied with the billion-dollar industry it already is... 'aint broke, dont try to fix it'. Not everything has to be world-wide, let this be Americas gig and the Euros and others can sink their monies into it if they wish. Im a firm believer in the globalist conglomeration of everything is just going to water everything down and lead to a total collapse of what was a good thing in the first place.

Europe could just create their own NFL-type League (they already have leagues working now) and when all is said and done, pit our SB Champ up against their best and let the chips fall where they may.

This has nothing to do with NFL random opinions, but this is my thread, so I'm dropping this here...

Helping my daughter clean out her room and we come across a notebook where she just jots down random thoughts and we come across one that squeezed the water out of my heart.

It read, very simply, these exact words:

My Dad is my best friend.

    I win.

    That's worth framing

Yeah they hit those teen years and it can get rough they hit 13 and for a decade you love them but want to kill them at the same time lol then they get their head back on straight (hopefully) and all is good in the world. At least that's how it is with girls didn't have any boys so can't speak about their teenage years.

I was like the rest of you. One daughter that was my best friend growing up. Now my wife trained horses I saw a parade of those 10 -13 Y/O drama queens. I looked at my daughter and said to myself, " one word to me or your mother and daddy will swoop in and turn your life upside-down". Believe it or not? That day NEVER came. We must have done something right. But then, she grew up, met a guy, got married and moved to Florida and broke her daddy's heart. They all get you one way or another.

My oldest did the same thing, moving from Ohio to Georgia. We did something right though, 3 years later after having her first child, they immediately moved back to Ohio to be closer to family. The only downside is they moved to his home town which is about 2 hours away. I’ll take 2 hours any day!!!! I’m just jealous of his parents who get to see the grandkids all the time.

Since this is my opinion, I thought I’d throw this out on this board.

Any draftniks out there, if you have Roku TV, check out “NFL Draft: The Pick Is In”. Just watched it. They take you inside the draft rooms of the Panthers, Jags, Cowboys and Colts. It’s good stuff.

Chris Ballard is a total and utter ass. A useful ass, in that he reminds you it could be worse re your own team's GM, but an ass nonetheless. Actually it may just be that he's already completely broken. Either way, barring a meteoric rise by Anthony Richardson, his days feel very much numbered.

On a team without one of the worst owners in the league he'd already be gone.

Ballard is Irsays puppet, why he remains so is a question I can not answer.

As a fan of the Colts, I can honestly say I’m still a fan of Chris Ballard, and how he goes about roster building.

He’s dealing with a bit of a loose cannon as far as Irsay goes. He’s also dealt with some fairly unprecedented issues along the way, such as having maybe the only surprise retirement of a franchise QB under 30 in the history of the league.

If he’s got a weak spot, imo it might be CB scouting. Our draft record there is worse than in most places.
He’s found talent at LB, Edge, DT, S, WR, OL, RB. He’s built a roster capable of beating the best (we’ve beat the Chiefs twice in recent history).

CB and maybe TE scouting has been suspect.
But true enough, this latest QB selection and his development will go to eternity in deciding how much longer he gets to stay as the shot caller for us.

I guess its cos in relative terms, Isray is even more incompetent in his role that Ballard is in his. In fairness any new GM there will face the same stacked deck that Ballard has.
