So the receiving team in this instance gets to decide whether they get $5,500,000 cap relief in the current season, or $1,834,000 relief in each of the 3 seasons of the contract?

But regardless what they prefer, the trading team is penalized the total of their agreed upon salary the next season, correct?

Is the trade penalty ($1,275,000) against the current season’s cap though? Does not roll into the next season like the agreed upon salary portion?

 

When I use the word ‘immediately’, I mean that money goes directly against the following season’s cap with no possibility of percentage split with the trading partner.

Ohh wait, I think I messed this up already haha.... Just to confirm, oy the first 3 rookies drafted will receive 2yr contracts, which are exempt from the total 2yr contracts. All other rookies can only be signed to a 1yr deal? Is that correct? So in other words, I cannot sign any other rookies to a 2 yr deal?

Just to add to this, it's the first 3 rookies you drafted, that were drafted in the first 3 rounds in real life. All rookies drafted in rounds 4-7 in real life, are automatic 1 year deals. If you drafted 4+ rookies that were drafted in the first 3 rounds in real life, all rookies after your first 3 drafted here will be automatically signed to 1 year deals.

Maybe I missed this, but what if one of the first 3 rookies are traded, does their 2 year contract follow them, or if the team they are traded to already has (3) 2 year contract rookies, does the new rookie revert to a 1 year contract automatically?
