Round 1 ~ Pick #23 The Minnesota Vikings select; Jordan Addison, WR - USC Was sitting on Johnston or Addison at this pick.
He says it's okay for me to say, apparently the last 3 picks were his top 3 in order and why he considered trading down and now he's glad he didn't.
It's looking like we can generally handle it even in round 1. I'm happy to see that. Still wondering if the ultimate schedule would be to go 30 minutes for round 1, as that's where we'd have the most important trades. But I think the 20-minute slots even for rounds 2-3 is probably the best way to go, and last year I liked the 15 minute pace for rounds 6-7. Rounds 4-5 could go either way I think.
We had this debate for years. In the end the 15 minute pace is an issue if everyone isn't keeping the draft ahead often.
A bit more explanation is that I pulled a list of 400 draft prospects, arranged their names, positions and schools in consecutive columns in a spreadsheet and sorted them alphabetically. That's what I'm using to update the tracking spreadsheet - when you pick a player, I cut his name from the list and paste him where he was drafted. (That helps me avoid spelling issues, etc, and it's also a tipoff later on if someone accidentally picks a player that has already been taken - his name won't be there.) So, sorted alphabetically, Zay Flowers was the 400th and very last name on the list.
I did send @xinik a PM to alert him that he's up. I might drop off in a moment and try to get some actual work done before I go to bed.
This is dumb. I know it's dumb. I know it will never happen. But Saquan Barkley didn't want to sign the big contract he was offered and now they are headed for divorce. Let's go ahead and expedite that process because I am looking at a top 10 talent or fringe first rounders... Bijan Robinson, RB, Texas Saquan Barkley is available if you want him...
Yeah that’s a surprise one. I understand the reasoning. But do the Giants take the next step by simply replacing someone they already have? He might be better than Saquon though. And theoretically you should get another pick or two back for Saquon
The downside on trading for Saquon is that it's basically a rental - if he's not signing the NYG deal, it's going to be tricky hanging on to him after this year. So two picks? Might be tough. At least two "good" picks. If this happened in real life, I'm thinking one Day Three pick might be the trade price.
