Anthony Richardson: I hear the critics, watch how hard I work At this point in the pre-draft process, all of the top prospects have had their games picked apart by scouts and analysts. Quarterback Anthony Richardson has been one of the most scrutinized prospects. His size, arm strength, and athletic ability have many admirers, but other aspects of his performance at Florida have created some doubts about whether he will thrive at the professional level. In a piece he wrote for The Players Tribune, Richardson acknowledged those doubts while sending a message about how much effort he will put into improving the areas of his game that need it. “And, yeah, I may not pay attention to all the noise, but I do hear the critics,” Richardson wrote. “I know the things people are picking apart. People talk about whether I can be accurate. They say I don’t have touch. They say I can’t throw short. They say a lot of things. All I gotta say is: Watch how hard I work. In my mind, I can do anything with the football in my hand — but I know that no one will ever work harder than me to improve. Whether that’s my footwork, accuracy, mechanics, learning defenses, you name it. You can always grow, and that’s what I’m focused on. I’m going to come in and be tireless. I’m going to put it all on the line. My family sacrificed too much for me to not give everything to this game.” Richardson has made the rounds of the quarterback-needy teams in this year’s draft and it’s likely that one of them will be calling his name early on April 27. Where things go from there will be a major storyline for his new team in the years to come. PFT
Fun fact: 19 of 32 teams have traded away their 6th round pick in this year's draft. One team (Chargers) later traded to get it back.
Agreed. Whats odd to me is some are thinking CJ Stroud is slipping a bit and even putting Will Levis ahead of Stroud... Im not buying that.
It's the week of lies and smoke screens. If Levis goes before Stroud, the system is clearly broken. I'm all for upside, but that's just insane.
Its also been a long month or better of BS click-bait by various WWW peeps that want us to read and digest their speculations.
Rumours are Houston wanted Young and thought they'd get him at 2 and they are thinking of passing at QB altogether if Carolina takes him.
Welcome back, Wes! If you're able to participate in the mock, it's here: 2023 Collaborative Mock Draft
Cardinals expect plenty of discussions about trading down from No. 3 The Cardinals own the third overall pick in Thursday night’s draft, and they don’t plan to take a quarterback a year after extending Kyler Murray. Which means they’ll get calls from interested in trading up for a quarterback. Cardinals General Manager Monti Ossenfort said trade talks should heat up in the coming days. “I think with any trade that comes up, there’s got to be opportunity, right? It takes two teams to make a trade, that’s the first thing. I think that’s something that we’re gonna really dive into next week is if the phone does ring and someone shows interest, we’re going to have to weigh that, right?” Ossenfort said, via SI.com. “I think those talks will really start progressing next week, but it’s one that we’re going to have to wait and see just what what opportunities are or aren’t there. There has been discussions I’d say back as far as the Combine, it’s pretty preliminary back then. It’s started to pick up here and I would say it’s going to continue to pick up as we get closer to next Thursday night.” Trading down could net the Cardinals a bounty of draft picks, and Ossenfort would like to add more players. “I think we’re trying to get as many good players and good people on the team as possible,” Ossenfort said. Alabama quarterback Bryce Young is the favorite to go No. 1 to the Panthers, and Alabama pass rusher Will Anderson is the favorite to go No. 2 to the Texans. That would leave three quarterbacks — Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud, Kentucky’s Will Levis and Florida’s Anthony Richardson — at No. 3. And it would surely result in the Cardinals’ phone ringing while they’re on the clock. PFT ___________ ______________________ I dont think anybody knows what anybody is going to do... even Chris Ballard, Colts GM admitted so. Its all guess work and a crap-shoot till these GM's/teams get on the clock. Im not so sure the Texans take Will Anderson at #2 either. Thursday ought to be fun and at the same time, many surprises.
Arizona has to look at this smartly. Is there a guy that might be a little raw but they feel he can be part of the future? That's the player you want. You have a chance here to help reset your identity. Dont be dumb.
. I've seen mocks where Houston passes on a QB and I don't get it New coach. New era. Bunch of picks. Who TF is throwing the ball???
Hendon Hooker… But… my prediction is they get what they hope to be a dynamic duo. CJ Stroud at 2, then Jaxon Smith-Njigba at 12. It’s just as much a business decision as roster decision. You get them, you sell out your season tickets and most likely also gain an OSU fan base watching intently. That’s the largest college fanbase in the world. More apparel sold, higher tv ratings. Everything Texans is worth more after tonight if you do that.
IT’S DRAFT DAY MFers!!!!. Time to get through the day, get home in time to watch one of the worst (but best) movies ever, get on my 4th old fashion and listen for Young’s name to kick things off.
