The good the bad and the ugly Carolina

D Johnson, Najee and Warren all showed up today. Watt got after the QB. Cam jammed Trubisky didn’t turn the ball over.

This team just isn’t consistent. It gets crappie watching our team in position to win games and give them away to inferior opponents. We should have nine wins this season and just haven’t played in a way that allows us to close out games. A couple of games we turned the ball over trying to force TDs when FGs in those spots would have given us enough points to win the game.

I’m looking at our draft position and I can’t see us getting a player that is going to be that difference maker that we need.

I know, of course, that there's no real hope for this team to accomplish too much but I still value wins and I'm glad they're not as bad as we thought(record wise anyway). They actually could be 8-6 if they didn't blow a few games.

The good is no turnovers. They ran well. Warren looks tough and physical. Johnson caught all ten of his targets. They got after the QB.

The penalty on Allen. Pickens with only two catches. Not much else.

Nothing too ugly except the idiot Patriots and their dumb lateral.

Raiders on Saturday. They better lose if they want a higher pick but I'm rooting for 9-8 and I don't care about what anyone says.

I want to win too dirk. I just see this as a wasted season because we didn’t make the playoffs.

Yeah. I know where you're at. The Steelers have generally been good enough for the fans to expect a certain level of success and I miss feeling that way. From 2005 to 2017 or so, I came into the season with title hopes and, sadly, I've tempered that down.

I hate the feeling of no hope to a season or just waiting for it to end but it seems we are in that group as fans now. How do these other fan bases deal with that.

We bitch and moan about our team a lot.

Congrats on the win, y'all. Sorry about the season as a whole.

Why even if they were to make the playoffs this team is not actually competing for a SB.

I'm in the same boat. Now, it's only been a couple of years, so I'm being a little patient. But how long will that last before I start sounding like you guys? What we have now isn't working!!

    Common Denominator: Quarterback

It's a QB league. If you don't have one playing at a high level you aren't going to be a contender.

The Saints have tried to make it work by getting their QB's off of the NFL scrap pile. Drew Brees worked out pretty well. Had Ted Bridgewater. He saved our season one year, but when his contract came up, we didn't have the cap space to pay him. Jamis Winston is average at best. And now Andy Dalton? C'mon man!! It might be time to go draft a nice shiny new one and see what that gets us.

You have to trade up for a QB with franchise one

Don't say that too loudly. These guys around here will start throwing Tom Brady in your face. Please don't get them started!

Tom Brady is called getting lucky, not great drafting. Brock Purdy looks like a find in the late rounds. You can’t count on that in the draft.

A lot of luck is often involved. It’s not enough to just get a high pick or use a first round pick. Depends on the class, and you have to trust your scouting department then you have to get through the draft. Have to guess what the teams in front will do. Year after year there are wild card teams who are very unpredictable who screw it up for everyone else :notes:
