These two are the game for me. The best thing you can say today is that Fields wasn't the clear worst player on the team. They legitimately lose their QBs, and they run out the *entire* rest of the game. The o-line was shockingly bad. Gordon, jesus, I know his number pretty well because all I ever see is the back of his jersey chasing down the play from behind. But hey, the cast off kicker made 4 of his FGs right? The Giants made this game as close as it was, it was just bad bad bad.
The defense as a whole isn’t that bad. Yes it’s rough against the run but it’s not like a group of all pros playing on that side of the ball either. It’s more of what you would expect. The offense? Oh boy. You would be hard pressed to find anybody playing worse than our QB right now. Backups are coming off the bench and playing better. Old Veterans that shouldn’t even still be playing are playing better. Think of how much better Fields needs to play just to be as good as Cutler? And he wasnt even close to being it as a QB. Back to the drawing board unless a light all of a sudden goes off and Fields just magically starts to get it. Game 4 of his second season is where Trubisky started his stretch of games that had us salivating for his third season. Maybe it will be game 5 for Fields or 6 or 7. The wait continues.
