What they have got to do one way or the other is find a way for Fields to take less punishment. Cos his demeanour this game was bad. Not like quitting just getting ground down. I think he's taking a beating each week like he's never taken before in his life(even inc last season) and he's really struggling with it. Im not making excuses cos he was bad today and missed on throws you can't miss on in this league, but I do wonder if the beating he's taking is getting to him.
So to clarify, he means bench him during this game because he was deer in headlights, and I still think that's pretty fucking dumb.
I read something earlier in the week that said some ESPN stat had the Bears as the best in the league at Pass-Block win rate. I have no idea how that can be exactly.
I see. Well I agree with you, bench Fields and play a guy who's name is Trevor, that's the plan? Fuck that.
Ive seen about this stat, its one of the dumbest fucking things I've ever seen in my life. No way its true. Thats the eye test, but also there's another stat saying that Fields is getting hit on nearly 50% of drop backs which is the highest in the league. So how do those two completely opposing stats reconcile
Wasn't able to watch today as I spent the day on the road. But I was able to listen to the entire Joniak/Thayer broadcast (finally put that free SiriusXM trial to use). Thayer did not hold back on criticizing Fields for both his decision-making and accuracy. On a positive note he was praising Roquan throughout the day so sounds like he's got his act together. For now I'm going to stop criticizing the heavy run to pass ratio. The run game is going too well, even with Monty gone most of the day and we still rush for nearly 300 yards!!! That and Fields is clearly not comfortable passing in this offense.
