Definitely true Ballard has prioritized the trenches. I just think a trade like we made for 38 year old Matty Ice says we're still win now. With a lack of picks I think that means you end up plugging holes. Not adding to what's already a strength. My opinion anyways.
10 New York Jets: Garrett Wilson - WR, Ohio State Going with Gardner first then coming back to take Wilson feels like a big win for the Jets. They just added two serious weapons, one on each side of the field, and I think both are going to be hits for the long term.
If the coaching staff can get Auden Tate turned back around, the offense will be loaded. Biggest question for the offense now is whether the young linemen will develop effectively.
11 New Orleans Saints: Chris Olave - WR, Ohio State Always felt like a great fit for the Saints, so the move for Olave is a solid bet. The Saints now have a compliment to Thomas, or else his eventual replacement within the passing game.
12 Detroit Lions: Jameson Williams - WR, Alabama This is my favorite move in the first round, because it involves my favorite player in this draft. The Lions decide to take a big swing and add a fucking nuclear missile on offense. Let's do the math real quick - D.J. Chark, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams and T.J. Hockenson in 11 personnel... Yeah, that's the good stuff.
13 Philadelphia Eagles: Jordan Davis - DT, Georgia The Eagles making the trade for Davis (never mind the trade for A.J. Brown, which is out-mother-fucking-standing) makes a ton of sense for Philly. Plug, play, dominate on the defensive line.
Howie Roseman said they didn't think the Ravens were necessarily targeting Davis but they didn't want to risk it because they know he works for them.
14 Baltimore Ravens: Kyle Hamilton - S, Notre Dame I love this pick for the Ravens. It feels like Baltimore is going to trend back to their strengths (considering the Brown trade) and having a vulture with a jet pack on the backend just feels like it screams murder in purple and black.
OT is there, gotta get him. Unless they've got a better plan for OL, but there HAS to be more attention to the position.
15 Houston Texans: Kenyon Green - OL, Texas A&M This is another simple, solid move by the Texans. You don't need to reach or try to cannonball of the high dive for the big splash when you can just quietly go about the business of adding players that make you a better football team immediately.
