Seems like the 49ers just have the Rams number, I don't understand your taking your time a wasted TO if they don't score a TD
Between the dropped INT and some really bad offensive plays….SF just crapped their pants at the most crucial moment.
The last 2 weeks of football have been incredible bordering on unbelievable. The big question now is can the Superbowl measure up to what we have seen? Sure its the biggest game of the year and its for all the marbles but can it be as incredible as the last 6 playoff games? If so we might get to witness the greatest SB f all time.
Eric Weddle: We were down and out, Aaron Donald rallied us Tight end George Kittle‘s touchdown in the third quarter of the NFC Championship Game put the 49ers up 17-7 and inspired a sideline meeting for the Rams defense. Defensive tackle Aaron Donald held the floor during that meeting and delivered a message to his teammates. That message was that it was time for them to step up and make sure that the Rams didn’t see their season come to an end with a seventh straight loss to their divisional rivals. That message was received. The 49ers punted twice as the Rams rallied to tie the game in the fourth quarter and then Donald provided the pressure on Jimmy Garoppolo‘s interception with just over a minute to go in the game. That turnover set up Matt Gay‘s game-winning field goal and safety Eric Weddle credited Donald with pushing the team to victory. “We were down and out,” Weddle said, via Jim Trotter of NFL Media. “AD rallied us. He asked us to give more. He said to let us be the reason we win this game. We knew what it meant to him.” Donald said last week that a Super Bowl title is the one thing missing from his list of accomplishments in the NFL. He’s a step closer to checking that box and the final minutes of Sunday’s win showed the impact he can have on finishing the job. PFT
These players played in different era's I wonder how Aaron Donald the bad man that he is would do against Larry freaking Allen of the Cowboys?
Broncos announce they’re up for sale The Denver Broncos are officially on the block. The Pat Bowlen Trust announced on Tuesday that the team will be sold. The move has been expected for some time as the team dealt with lawsuits involving Bowlen’s heirs that helped make it clear selling the team would be the easiest path forward. The dismissal of a recent lawsuit brought by the estate of former owner Edgar Kaiser was seen as the last hurdle to clear before a sale could begin. “Selling an NFL team is a complex process involving numerous parties and league approval procedures,” CEO Joe Ellis said in a statement. “Nonetheless, the trustees hope to have the sale completed by the start of the 2022 NFL season. The Broncos are a special franchise that is part of the fabric of this region, and whoever emerges as the new owner will certainly understand what the team means to our great fans and this community.” The sale price for the Broncos is likely to set a new record for an American professional sports team. John Elway has expressed interest in being part of the new ownership team, but that is one of many open questions about the future of the franchise that will be answered in the coming months. PFT
The NFL team in Washington has a new name: Washington Commanders. The team, which briefly changed its name to Football Team after decades of criticism for using a dictionary-defined racial slur as its name, will be known as the Commanders going forward. The team was hoping for a major announcement this morning, although the cat had already been let out of the bag by Joe Theismann, as well as others who did some sleuthing and found evidence that the Commanders name was coming. Owner Dan Snyder previously vowed that he would “NEVER” change the franchise’s name, but Snyder has been pilloried by criticism for all kinds of mismanagement of the franchise, and he decided the name was a fight he simply couldn’t sustain any longer. And now it’s official, the team is called the Washington Commanders.
Screw the name, the uniforms are total garbage. Nike just keeps turning out trash for NFL jerseys and we're stuck with them because NFL keeps selling them the contract. Same for Madden games. Awful fucking product as usual, NFL.
The most sad thing about this choice of name... it's a different branch of the service, sure, but they're still FIVE grades of rank below the Washington Generals.
