They didn't make it easy, but an ugly win beats an ugly loss. Definitely got too conservative too early (that's on the coaches) and Joe Woods' squad looked pretty poor -- if we're being honest -- agaisnt backup Tyler Huntley. They actually have had a pretty good gameplan against Lamar the last 1.5 games they faced him but struggled mightily against his backup. And this isn't commentary about Lamar or Baltimore, but rather Joe Woods' continued inability to scheme on the fly or make corrections/adjsutments in-game. Myles, Clowney, Ward, and JOK were studs but they were about it. Baker and the offense weren't great, either. The offense finished with a total of 290 yards which is their third-lowest output of the season and follows a distrubing trend where all three of those games were in the last four contests. This, after a BYE week when the team was as healthy as it had been outside of our TE room. We again failed to get anything going in the ground game (86 yards on 23 attempts for an average of 3.7 yard per carry) and the offense only posted 17 points. Mayfield had an interception off a miscommunication with Landry which again, at this point in the season shouldn't be happening. All that said... the Browns had a perfect weekend: Baltimore, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, and Las Vegas all lost. The Browns play trash teams in the AFC from here on out with the slumping Raiders, the garbage Steelers, and the struggling Bengals. Even a modicum of competency should see them go 4-1 down the stretch (no chance they beat the Packers playing like they are currently) which should put them into the post-season where hopefully Stefanski can recapture the 2020 magic and coaching ability.
First half: 215 Second half: 75 Until the interception in the second half, the Browns were on track for 560 yards and 45 points on offense. So what the *hell* happened to Stefanski and the offense that led them to generate a paltry 92 yards and 0 points (1 missed FG) over the remaining 2.5 quarters of play? How can an entire unit and coaching staff get that tight? Question that need answered if this team is going to do anything in the post-season.
