That is pretty crazy. lol! I like a lot of PFF stuff, but the rankings are head scratchers sometimes.
Well you know your team is sucking ass when the network switches games. What an abortion of a performance.
Whelp... it was a big win, just not for the good guys this time. That was as embarassing a loss as we've had in the Stefanski era (shades of Hue Jackson, honestly). The team quit, the players failed to show up big time, and the coaches on all sides were routinely out-classed. That should not happen to a team this talented on the cusp of regaining playoff momentum and needing to establish themselves as winners. Truly, the Browns were superior in nearly every position across the roster and ended up with a 45-7 shellacking. As we speak, the Browns are last place in the AFC North, have knocked their playoff chances down to 35%, and are dependent on other teams' playing poorly down the stretch as well as basically needing to win out. That's not how a successful, Super Bowl-hopeful should be mid-way through November. So... what comes next?
If they play anything like they did yesterday, that is a real possibility. On both sides of the coin... The Browns looked like a bottom dweller and the Lions took the Steelers to a tie. From the sounds of it, the Steelers played pretty bad as well, but I doubt it was as bad as the Browns did. The Browns were out coached and out played in the final 53 minutes of that game.
Bill Belichick gave Kevin Stefanski a lesson in how to run the Cleveland Browns offense. And . . . how to defend against it.
We're going to have to have an uncomfortable conversation about Stefanksi looking like Freddie Kitchens too often right after we run Joe Woods out of town. The Browns defense gave up touchdown drives of 83, 84, 92, 95, and 99 yards. Yes... the offense was atrocious all on its own, but no team is going to win a game when your defense looks like that against a rookie quarterback, an average offensive line, and running backs and receivers who couldn't start for the Browns. #freeJoeWoods
No doubt about the Defensive performance against the Pats. Andrew Berry spent virtually the entire off season (Free Agency and the Draft) giving Joe Woods everything he needed and he proved he doesn't know what to do with it. The Cardinals game was another fine example. HOWEVER It's waaay too early to start bitching about Kevin Stefanski. When (your) 5th rated QB gives the ball right back to them after they scored to tie the game, and then you watch the opponent keep your offense on the sideline during drives of 83, 84, 92, 95, and 99 yards it kinda flushes your game plan right down the shitter (away from what you do best - run the ball).
While I agree the D spit the bit, the O was anemic, and whether it's Baker or Stephanski, it sucked out loud. The calm cool analytical coach, who doesn't get rattled is fine but there is a fire missing on this team, and I don't know if Coach has it in him to light one. Jarvis seems to have lost some of his as well, and frankly I don't see it coming from anywhere else. The team that was playing so together a year ago seem like strangers, lost and unable to focus. That's on the coach. I'm not calling for his head, but he's got to figure out how to push some buttons, and get this group together. I truly believe Woods has coached himself out of Cleveland barring some miraculous resurgence in the last 7 weeks. Injuries have hurt, but guys who are proven players looking this bad is telling. 3rd and whatever is easy pickins against his D. Maybe it's overeaction, but we have yet to bring an "A" game vs a good opponent (not sure what Cinci is).
