I expected some regression, I did not expect this, what looks like a bottom 5 fucking defense. With the amount of talent on that side of the ball it’s just mind boggling.
Mack is below average. No-Tacklin-Jackson might be the worst free safety in the league. Hicks is good for a play once or twice a game. Same with Roquan. Otherwise, the rest of them are trash. There's less talent over there than you think.
The secondary is just THAT bad. I don't think the DL or LB's have been the problem - but the CB's have been genuinely useless, and the safeties don't seem to want to play football. So... Here we are.
Can't block that long. Dalton is getting the ball out so fast. I don't think him holding it any longer is going to turn out well. The OL is bad, the D is playing soft, and Dalton isn't the guy I want chucking bombs. I agree that it's a losing recipe. But when your GM gives you a plate of shit for a roster, you can't really make much more out of it. Fuck you, Ryan Pace.
the only thing I’ll disagree with is Stafford really hasn’t been under any pressure. That Mack stat line is embarrassing for a guy paid like he is.
Mack isn't below average. Otherwise, I agree. They don't have NFL-level talent at FS, CB (minus Jaylon Johnson), one OLB spot, or NT. That's a lot.
“Generally that means you’re going to run the ball” *Bears snap into shotgun* mr collinsworth let me introduce you to “I’m not an idiot Matt Nagy”
I heard a nextgen stat earlier today and apparently he ranked near the bottom in the league last year among all pass rushers last year in winning 1-1 battles with the OTs. For what that's worth.
I think his days of breaking a game at will are over I think with help from 5 tech (hicks) and a proficient NT he’ll start eating QBs again. When all an OC has to do is splinter him with a tackle and TE and ask someone else to make a play—Paces chosen personnel can’t.
