That was true for Mitch Trubisky and the subsequent Mack acquisition. Problem is, Pace didn't lose his job after that massive f*** up. So your thought gave me solace four years, not so much now.

Fingers crossed. I've seen the talent from previous Ohio St QB's, but also seen how the system they're brought up in gives them zero NFL prep, and they predictably fail. Fields is the most talented I've seen from Ohio St in recent years, but I'm still wary. He doesn't have me convinced. He or Lance were the only guys I wanted (presuming #1 being what it was). Wilson and Jones had me terrified.
Jay Cutler. And I hate that I honestly think that, with supporting evidence. But that's how bad Chicago QB's have been. "Best QB" here is the lowest bar in the league's history, without question.
That solidifies it for me. I really think the Cowboys wanted Horn/Surtain and the Giants wanted Waddle/Smith. Cowboys knew that the Eagles won't go Parsons and just had to hope the Giants didn't take him or trade it to someone that did so they made the move for a 3rd.
Difference is, Fields is a QB first, not a running QB. You are going to be pleasantly surprised. I'm genuinely excited for you guys.
