I've been trying to trade up for him since #12, BEFORE my first pick. Nobody would bite on future 1sts and change. Glad I got him for less. RT you could've gotten more
I feel like he’s the 3rd best lineman in the class. Athletic tackles is where the league is moving to and it’s excellent protection for the franchise piece touching the ball every play.
I'll try to keep that in mind for future deals. But for what it's worth I didn't love the value of any player I was taking there. And per the value chart I won anyways, projected your 2nd next year anywhere better than 32
Add to that it's twice what your brother would ever offer. So sometimes to see fair value coming from anywhere in that family feels like a win
Ya it was fair. Just this player I was willing to pay more. It wasn't a draft slot trade but more a player value trade for me. Kinda like what Jerry Jones didn't do when he wanted Paxton Lynch. He refused to give more because the slot was lower but he offered more for the same player earlier.
lol. Funnily enough the trades I get rejected the most are the ones where I offer more than I receive via the charts. Maybe it makes people think the picks are that much more valuable. Really it's probably because they aren't asking and I'm going in heavier but want to pick.
Feels fine in a bubble with that future pick being worth a decent chunk less than a current pick. Honestly looks really fair at that spot. Especially if you don't like the value there for anyone but he does.
I probably should mention for draft order I used NFL.com Feel free to double check the first page here sooner than later and tell me if anything doesn't look right so I can look into it. Also for those who stay up to date on this kind of stuff indulge me on one or two "questionable" pick trades from real life. @Torgo I'm looking at you. Didn't something come up in the GMO we ended up looking into. Miami and someone else??
Yeah I mean in a 1-for-1 I know the general rule is downgrade next year's picks a single round. But since Ballard's job is pretty safe I just assumed while calculating that the Chargers pick next year would fall anywhere between 10-20. And since I'm gaining a 2 back this year and the 3rd we sacrificed for Carson Wentz I feel pretty good about it. I threw the 7th round swap in just to make me feel even rosier...
Odds are I trade that 7th and it wouldn't make a difference if it was earlier. lol Then again odds are I'm not sniped the 7 picks ahead.
