Hey everyone!

I want to thank you all for a great regular NFL season again! I'm always happy to see the competition in our contest and the 'friendly' rivalries.

Huge congratulations go out to @EvertonBears for holding his lead and winning the Contest!! This is the 1st time in the Contest's history that Everton has managed to get all of his picks in! Insanely good picking, I might add!

Special mention goes to @gidion72 who only slipped out of top place contention in Week 17. You had an amazing season, you should be really proud!

Huge congratulations go out to babyfan for holding on to the 3rd place in the contest for so many weeks and then jumping to 2nd place. (Pat myself on the shoulder).

Congratulations go out to @SoCalSaint for improving his score in order to land in 2nd place. Well done!

Congratulations to @Lyman for grabbing 3rd place in a tie with @gidion72 !!

We are now launching into the Playoff series. If you decide that you do not want to participate in the playoffs please let me know.

First and foremost . . . Thank You Babyfan for putting on this contest for all these years. As always, it's a lot of fun for us.

However, my life, at the moment, only allows for so much "screen time" and most of mine will be devoted to (hopefully) getting L4SN's 2021 GMO exercise up and running. So I'll watch how the playoff rounds unfold but will not be participating.

In a nutshell, it's an exercise where you act as the General Manager of an NFL team and work through the off season issues brought on by Free Agency (on line bidding), Tags, RFA's and ERFA's, Trades, the draft (a mock draft is included in the exercise), and roster makeup all the while staying under the Salary Cap. All in all, it can be quite challenging but is a lot of fun. I, for one, have learned a lot about what goes into how NFL front offices operate. PM me if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them.

 

If @gidion72 wasn't such a homer, he could have tied Ev for 1st place.

(I picked the Browns to lose three times and was correct all three times. The Jets game wasn't one of them)

Grupy I played and Sucked........it's Fun but you have to stay on Top of it.

 

I don't think so. He picked up the biggest bat he had, walked up to the plate and swung for the fences................. And missed.
I gotta admit, he's got more guts than I do to do something like that.

 

Thanks baby for running another great comp this year. And as if it wasnt enough work already you had certain trouble makers dropping their picks in code! As you say, i finally finished one and standing here now, victorious, i can only reflect back on all my wasted pickem years and wonder might have been. All those times i drank, smoked and partied instead of knuckling down and studying my picks, formulating my strategies, getting the homework in on time. Less Joe Montana perhaps and more Joe Namath, but hey ho i can live with that. And as they say, when you're a pickems winner you're a pickems winner for life, kinda like being President.

To my fellow pickers well done, including the vanquished Gidion, who in the end cracked under the pressure picked a bunch of stupid shit and got trounced. Im so sorry Gidion, i know how much you wanted this. Needed this.

Finally id like to say a shout out to the winners of week 17 cos what champs they are. SoCal, the pickers picker, the consummate pro. That early butt fucking always looked too much to overcome and i guess ultimately it was, but you never quit and showed us all your power. See you next year. And Lyman, sweet Lyman. Lest we forget what a pickem powerhouse he is, this gnarled old seadog went a batshit 14-2 and turned week 17 into Okinawa. For this is a man so old school he remembers the time before the game went soft and they started wearing leather hats. Bravo sir.

I will do my best to represent the board as your champion for the next year. With class, with dignity and with hookers. Im going now, this will be my last post. It may be a very long time before you hear from me again, if you ever do. Goodbye.

No, Lyman is right. The only reason he had to pick up the bat as you say, was because he picked himself into a corner. If he hadnt been a brainless homer in the first place he would never have had to do that. We shouldn't put slurpers on a pedestal, they dont deserve it.

You forgot to give me glowing accolades for being sport stupid and still getting up on the pedestal.

 

And id also like to add that Gidion made his picks so early every week he literally had no idea which players were even playing. He treated information like bunk coke. Its a complete miracle he was anywhere near the top of the final board tbh.
