Based on how Garrett has been conducting himself, I suspect he's moving on. He is nominated for the Walter Payton man of the year. He's too good of a guy IMO
Well, it's Thursday and news of who's back "off the Covid" list should clarify today. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Sorry to report, but Per NBC... The COVID-19 situation is getting worse in Cleveland. The Browns had two more players test positive today and have closed their facility while contact tracing goes on. “The Cleveland Browns were informed of two additional positive COVID-19 test results among our players this morning,” the Browns said in a statement. “The Browns facility is currently closed while contact tracing is conducted to identify any high-risk close contacts. The team will continue to work remotely this morning while following the NFL-NFLPA intensive protocols as the health and safety of our team, staff and the entire community remains our highest priority.” These two positive tests are the latest in a string of positive tests on the Browns’ roster. Cleveland also had to play last week without most of its wide receivers, who were classified as high-risk close contacts to one player who tested positive. The Browns have the biggest game in recent franchise history on Sunday, with a win over the Steelers guaranteeing them a playoff berth. They may not be at full strength.
Between us resting our starters and your guys going on Covid list, this ought to be a pretty good game
I can't remember being more "excited / anxious" for a Browns game. This Covid breakout is worrisome. I don't want to find out Saturday that we will be missing another set of players. I'm convinced that the team is going through the "post holiday" contact blues. I am among those in the same boat. My sister tested positive on Sunday, and I had to wait til Friday to be tested (5 day incubation period), so I expect results Monday. I expect this breakout stems from one or two Browns players / coaches who were around family members / friends who either knowingly or unknowingly had the virus. I sincerely hope they've put a clamp on the spread now. As a Browns fan, I think the return of Teller & Wills are critical. The loss of Ward is the worst blow, and hopefully he tests negative by mid week, so he is available for our first playoff game since the millenia.
A coach is the latest member of the Cleveland Browns organization to test positive for COVID-19. The Browns announced today that they are once again closing their facility, as they did repeatedly this week, while they conduct contact tracing. “The Cleveland Browns were informed this morning that a member of their coaching staff has tested positive for COVID-19,” the team’s statement said. “The team will continue virtual meetings as the facility is currently closed while contact tracing is conducted. We will consult with league medical professionals on the appropriate next steps.” The Browns have had an outbreak that has resulted in several positive tests this week, but from all indications their game against the Steelers on Sunday will go on as planned. It’s unclear how many players or coaches on the Browns may have to miss the game. The Steelers have already announced that several key starters, including Ben Roethlisberger, will not play. If the Browns win, they will earn their first playoff berth since 2002. NBC _______________________________ Just keeps on going, but for now, so is the game... I just hope you guys dont loose any more key players. Good luck.
I remember when Baltimore had the massive breakout, and at least one commentator proposed that it could end up being an advantage, making most of the team immune as they head into the playoffs. An interesting take, that may actually be true.
Gotta wonder if it wouldn't make sense to have the "antibodies test" done on everyone, so you'd know who remains vulnerable.
10-6 Browns at the half. Browns are 9-0 when leading at the half. Bills are up by 2 TDs so pretty meaningless for the Steelers.
Well, I'll take it. Just not a very convincing win against half a Steelers team. Now we go to their house and pray our Covid and injured players will be back, especially Ward. Glad we broke the 18 year drought but dreading another Steeler game. The Browns are going to have to play a lot better next week.
Wouldn't have been a nail biter if the Browns had a kicker who could make a field goal. Need to lose Parkey and find someone else. Wouldn't even have thought twice about sending out the kicker if it wasn't Parkey.
