Hey everyone! Tim has given me permission to post a website which @tunafat is involved with called K9s for Veterans.

The K9S for Veterans' Mission Statement is:

K9s for Veterans mission is to help veterans with post traumatic stress disorder transition back to civilian life once their military service has ended with the help of trained service dogs. We are committed to educating the public about the plight of veterans with PTSD and streamlining the process for them to get service dogs, so they get the help they need... Before it’s too late.

K9 provides free food and medicare care for the life of the service dog. The lifesaving efforts of K9s for Veterans are doubled by the exclusive use of rescue dogs from kill shelters to train as service dogs for our veterans. This approach truly epitomizes the question of “who rescued who”. Our duty is to be honest and thoughtful stewards of the funds our donors entrust us with so we can maximize their generosity and the number of veterans that benefit from it. Together, we can make a difference for these struggling heroes and the dogs who devote their lives to them.

It's a fantastic sport, and it's very physical. My only issue with professional soccer are all the drama queens who play. That aspect of the game is sickening but the game itself is fantastic. Running full out for halves ... it's beautiful.

 

And soccer should not even crack the to 20

Jean I follow the EPL (Southampton Saints) and it is my Least Favourite sport but I enjoy watching it......there are a lot of Yawner games.....0-0 ...1-1...zzzzz

And these numbers surprised me.......in the USA Soccer (8.2%) viewing is ahead of Hockey (3.8%).....Football is # 1 at 31 %.....No surprise there.

That's no surprise. We sports fans watch the sports that we played as kids. All you need to play soccer is a flat place and a ball. Hockey is a little different. It's more of a regional thing. I grew up in southern California. Hockey ?? Where am I going to find a frozen pond here. And how do these damn ice skates work ?

 

I believe soccer is the sport most kids play now because parents don't want their kids getting hurt playing football.

 

For sure. My ex wife lost that battle with me.

I have a few grandkids that play and my cousin has a grandson playing with Notre Dame right now. Football just always ran in our family.

Just so you dont look silly if you end up talking this in real life to someone.... no one really calls them the Southampton Saints. Their name is Southampton F.C(football club) but most people would just call them Southampton. Their nickname is the saints, but people dont use nicknames like we would for actual football ie Bears, Titans. Everton's nickname is the toffeemen but no one would ever really use that either, same with things like Arsenal Gunners or Liverpool Twats. Altho in the case of that last one we should really all start.

 

Its very cardio, it hasnt been physical for about 30years. These days there's more physicality in an episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse than there is in soccer. Thats a guess really, i dont watch it, but its prob true. Maybe gidion could confirm for us.
