THE GOOD: The Steelers continue their best ever start to a season (11-0). The Steelers get another AFC win. The Steelers are 4-0 in the AFCN. The Steelers sweep the Ravens this season. Ben Roethlisberger completed 36 of 51 attempts for 266 yards 1 TD 1 (End Zone) INT. This is the 2nd game in a row that Roethlisberger throws an INT in the opponents end zone. Benny Snell was a respectible 60 yards on 16 carries (3.75 ypc). The Steelers O-Line did not surrender a QB Sack. Boswell was 2/2 FG and 1/2 XP The Steelers defense held Gus Edwards to 10 yards on 9 carries (1.11 ypc). The Steelers defense held the run-oriented Ravens to 129 total rushing yards. Joe Haden had 1 INT (for a TD) T.J. Watt had 2 QB Sacks C Heyward had 1 QB Sack Vince Williams had a fumble recovery. James Washington's late game combat catch to help the Steelers close out the game. THE BAD: The Steelers looked like they were still unsure if the game was being played today. <Per Steelers Depot> Steelers HC Mike Tomlin pulls no punches team's performance: 'It was junior varsity' Steelers turning the ball over to the Ravens on 4th-and-goal from the Ravens 1 yard line. This is the 1st game the Steelers didn't score at least 24 points. Key drops by Steelers WRs Minkah Fitzpatrick dropped INT Steelers FGs were Red Zone FGs of 25 and 27 yards. Marquise Brown 70 Yard TD (against Terrell Edmunds) Robert Griffin 39 yard run near the end of the 1st half. Marlon Humphrey had 2 FF Davontae Harris had 1 FF Tyus Bowser had 1 INT The Steelers have a short week to get ready for Washington. The original schedule had the Steelers versus Washington at Heinz Field after both were to play on Thanksgiving. THE UGLY: Bud Dupree Knee Injury - as it looks like a season ending torn ACL. COVID-19 Novel Coronavirus and rescheduling LV Raiders are very competitive against the Chiefs and get blown on by the Falcons.
MORE GOOD: The Steelers now have at least 1 QB Sack in 68 straight games. This is 1 game off the NFL record (see below). The Tampa Bay Buccaneers hold the NFL record, going 69 straight games with a sack between 1999-2003, an era highlighted by Hall of Fame defensive lineman Warren Sapp’s swagger and Hall of Fame linebacker Derrick Brooks’ smarts. (https://www.weirtondailytimes.com/s...s hold,Fame linebacker Derrick Brooks' smarts.) MORE BAD: Zach Banner, Devin Bush, and Bud Dupree (by all indications) have suffered non-contact ACL injuries. SIDENOTE: Was this Bud Dupree's last game as a Steeler?
The ugly: The Steelers play after time off. Tomlin needs to keep his team working every week. They crap the bed when they more days off than a normal week offers.
Well, not pretty but 11-0. The good: Despite a couple of bad plays, the D was good. The Ravens were undermanned so that was a factor. Snell had some big effort plays. It was all him on a couple of those runs. JuJu had some tough catches and so did Washington on 3rd and 6 late. The bad: Red Zone Offense. Two FGs and an INT. Gotta do better. Diontae had a drop that was probably a TD. Dropped passes. Ray Ray. Please call fair catch The Ugly: Bud Dupree Tomlin's press conference. I feel sorry for this team this week and then the Redskins. Tomlin was pissed. Summary: 11-0. Depleted and delayed but still a win vs a rival. The Ravens have an easy schedule down the stretch but they have to run the table. I don't think they get in. 12-0 come Monday. With a win and a Brown's loss, I think the Steelers win the North. That's step one.
