The cowboys are a very hated opponent among older Steelers fans. We must win this game. Losing to the cowboys especially this crap team they have now, would be totally unacceptable. Even just barely beating them would be unacceptable. Their oline is decimated by injuries and they have no QB that can carry them. Our defense should rack up sacks at record numbers this week. Now let’s go and set the team record for wins without any losses to start a season for the Steelers.
Roger Staubach will be starting this week for the Cowboys. With Dorsett in the Back Field......lol Trivia........Staubach is the Author of the "Hail Mary" pass.
Mike Tomlin passed Tony Dungy as the African American Coach with the most wins at 140. Which happens to be 9 short of Bill Cowhers total wins. So if the Steelers go 16-0 Tomlin ties Cowher. I’ll come back to that later in the season if we start getting in that neighborhood.
The beginning of the season I know someone mentioned it somewhere that Tomlin could tie Cowher’s win total career wise, you laugh it off because it would require going 16-0. Now at 7-0 and looking at the schedule there’s a light at the tunnel. If Tomlin got a 19-0 Super Bowl run is he then a first ballot HOFer?
If they get to 11-0, I'll ramp up my thought process about it. Until then, 14-2 and the bye is all I can hope for.
Garret Gilbert is the likely starter for the Cowboys this Sunday with Cooper Rush as the back up. Gilbert has completed 2 of 6 passes for 40 yards in his NFL career. If this game is close, I will be disappointed. If the Steelers get out to a good lead and Elliott is less involved, than it could get ugly.
